- Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva Rav Malkiel shlita went to visit the youngerman in Ocean county jail.

- At 1:15 pm there will be a עצרת תפילה in BMG Bais Yitzchok after a BMG Yungerman was arrested by Lakewood Police on Friday after a Hispanic teen he was trying to hire as a day laborer claimed he wanted to lure him into his vehicle.
- Today 2:00pm עצרת מחאה ותפילה in front of Lakewood police station and town hall to protest the arrest of a innocent youngerman whose been locked in ocean county jail since Thursday. The Roshei yeshiva are expected to join again after they came last night at 1:30 am. As of this afternoon nothing has changed and no words from any elected officials or community liasons.

The IDF will begin this week sending summonses to complete the recruitment processes for the remaining members of the ultra-Orthodox community whose status as yeshiva students is no longer valid due to the expiration of the law. The summonses are expected to be sent in several phases throughout July, until all 54,000 orders have been issued. The reporting dates at recruitment offices will be spread throughout the 2025 recruitment cycle. As part of the comprehensive screening and recruitment processes, the IDF will continue to focus efforts and prioritize those with high potential for combat roles and forward support roles, in order to fill the ranks of the IDF as soon as possible due to the increasing operational need.
The IDF intends to intensify enforcement actions regarding draft dodgers and deserters from all populations.
The IDF will continue to work on expanding the recruitment of members of the ultra-Orthodox community, while ensuring the provision of optimal conditions to preserve their unique lifestyle and developing additional pathways to facilitate their integration into the system.

Very likely Reb Binyamin's english might have an accent (sorry for judging, but I say this based on a posted picture of his) and his request of "come to my house" in his accented english, to a migrant with likely much less perfect english, could very very easily have become misunderstood.

They have ZERO vetting process. And now they are starting to feature camps? To drag them in to all the camps למיניהם out there? Is this what we are trying to do? And to involve our children in the music culture? HaRav Malkiel had very string words about 24six when he spoke at the asifas mechanchim last year.

ReplyDeleteRegrettably the system arrests and jails people until they can be seen by a judge. We must lobby to have the law changed such that an individual alleged to have committed a non-violent crime is fitted with a tracking device not incarcerated!
DeleteNo, the standard procedure for such a menial issue is a criminal summons with a requirement to appear before a judge. There's no reason for him to be held until arraignment.
DeleteHe is not being arraigned. He is being held (due to the court being closed) to make an initial appearance in front of a judge. Arraignment is a process that is lawfully supposed to take place after formal charges are presented and due process.

ReplyDeleteIt’s very simple they are pre indictment and the hearing and the way YJ operates is only by pressure and the key is to raise the pressure as much as possible to minimize the charges and thereby avoiding any jail time for the Chusheve younger man and father of 7 pressure does and will work to minimize the charges as there is a certain leeway the prosecutor has with which severity the charge should be brought

Many husbands were incarcerated due to bogus charges brought by their former wives. Halacah is abundantly clear as to the דינים of a מוסר yet not only is there no outrage, some of the aforementioned wives get supported by "Rabbi's" !!!!
This travesty must be called out. Fortunate is the מוסר who receives their due punishment in this transitory world! They may even have the opportunity to repent.

ReplyDeleteReally amazing to see the level of entitlement of our community. We are not special and should not receive any special treatment. Reb Binyamin is a friend of mine, and I do not see why on paper he should be treated differently than the perps that have been accused of child luring in the past. Please correct me if I am wrong, all child endangerment cases are considered "special crimes" that require an immediate arrest and need a judge to be released. The damage that we have done to ourselves by acting this way will be very apparent in the future. You hear the uneducated people of Lakewood spewing "facts" that would make the Neturei Karta proud. At this point, the Lakewood PD has a right to be disgusted with us, as we have shown that we have no respect for the law that they swore to uphold. We only have ourselves to blame that we do not have an askan who proved their trustworthiness to the authorities, as Rabbi Schenkolewski did. It takes a huge dose of frum entitlement to think that a couple of rabbis showing up at a police station is going to result in a release from prison. This is not Russia, and heads would have been rolling on a government level if they had accommodated the RY.
