- Update from Philadelphia yeshiva on the condition of Maran HaRav Shmuel Kamenetsky shlit”a.

Due to the enormous public interest in the health of the Rosh Yeshiva shlit”a, we would like to provide a more detailed update on his condition and progress.
On Sunday, the doctors informed us that the Rosh Yeshiva was in deep septic shock, and many systems were shutting down. At that time, we were told by the doctors that al pi teva there was virtually zero chance for recovery, the only way would be a miracle.
Sunday, Klal Yisrael held urgent atzeres tefillos  in Yerushalayim, Lakewood, Brooklyn, Toronto, the Catskills, Monsey, Detroit, and many other cities.
Monday morning, to the wonder of the doctors, the Rosh Yeshiva showed slight improvement. The blood pressure rose slightly and his systems began to perform. Over the day, there was slow, incremental progress.
In an update on Monday afternoon, the doctors exclaimed in wonder “nissim, only nissim and tefilla could have done this”. They informed us, that although the Rosh Yeshiva is still in critical condition, while on Sunday the only way was al pi nes, now, there is a potential path for recovery even al pi teva. In the words of the lead doctor “The Rosh Yeshiva is walking a tightrope. Incredibly, he made it halfway across the tightrope, but is still balancing on the tightrope”.
We ask the oilam:
Please continue your tefillos for Shmuel ben Ita Etil.
He has had nissim to reach this point, but is still in critical condition. It is the tefillos of Klal Yisrael which has brought the Rosh Yeshiva to this point, and in the zechus of our tefillos the Rosh Yeshiva will have a refua sheleima iy”H.
Please continue to be מתפלל for שמואל בן איטא עטיל בתוך שאר חולי ישראל as we beseech Hashen לקיים בנו חכמי ישראל

- Jack Ciattarelli calls out Murphy for freezing child care funds from CHS:
"UNACCEPTABLE! Governor Murphy mismanaged the state budget, which is up $23 billion - 70%! - since he took office, to fund his far left agenda, and now the victims of his mismanagement are children and families, as he slashes funding for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). My opponent supports Murphy's budget, which means millions of dollars will continually be wasted on a liberal agenda while programs like CCAP are cut. Under my administration, we will make funding child care and the CCAP a priority."

  3. Shane Tamura, the man who killed four people in Manhattan last night and then committed suicide...

He never played in the NFL.

Reports of him shouting 'free palastine'.

This building was recently published on the hit list of 'globalize the intifada'

Instead of the claim that he 'accidentally ' went to the 33rd floor, ot was intended .

  6. Amazing Ponovich is almost the ONLY Yeshiva in the world that stoops so low that it flys the Zionist Israeli flag on top of it's Bais Medrish on Yom Hatzmus. What a Bizayon for the Olam HaYeshivos!!!

    1. Enough sinas chinam! If Horav Kahaneman saw fit to fly the flag, he knew what he was doing!! And despite everything, Ponevez is the foremost bastion of Torah learning.

    2. BH I read HV.

Here on this site we BH have anonymous kanoeim posters @July 29th at 10:12Am that know what is better for the “Olam Hayishivos” than the Ponovizer Rav זצוק׳ל who instituted the flag flying.

It is unbelievable that in today’s day and age someone can sit at a computer (or smartphone) and מאך אוועק one of the biggest builders of the עולם הישיבות after the churban.

Maybe it is time for some introspection and please think for a second:
There were so many gedolei Olam that were Roshei yeshiva of Ponovez that said nothing about the flag. Why were they quiet and did not make a tumult?
Think about it for a sec

Did Reb Shmuel זצ׳ל think it was a בזיון?
Did Reb Dovid זצ׳ל think it was a בזיון?
Did Reb Lazer זצ׳ל think it was a בזיון?

Don’t you think that that is a bissel chutzpah on your part to call it a Bizayon when Groiseh Roshei Yeshiva said nothing or maybe even agreed (gasp)

      Just asking for a friend.

    3. If you don't like the flag, make a hafganah.

  7. Why did the Shidduch Initiative go all-in with propaganda launching a full-scale campaign over Pesach, including an aggressive condescending insert in all the major magazines, PR articles across websites, and even showcasing a trip of rabbonim flying on private planes to visit Midwest and other U.S. communities They featured photo ops from Eretz Yisroel, including a statement from Rav Moshe Hillel supporting the "freezer takkanah" for girls and they said there would be consequences for those who break it and wont have siyata dishmaya if they get engaged during that time before waiting .
And now after it clearly flopped they go silent. No explanations, no accountability, nothing. Just walking away without addressing the public or explaining what actually happened.

    2. Why should they issue statements - for what purpose? They accepted that this did not have Siyata D'Shmaya and moved on. Whatever they learn from this is not for them necessarily for them to be public about.

    3. It's basic mentchlichkeit especially when you bullied klal yisroel for years and tried to make major changes to the way of life you don't cowardly walk away
You apologize or issue a statement

    4. You can say the same thing with the campaign to elect Josh Gottheimer they turned lakewood upside down for a guy that stood no chance and now Mikie Sherrill owes us a big fat nothing
They also didn't apologize for wasting the olams time

    5. Because they use the same PR firm as Hamas, i.e., a good one.

  11. Everyone’s complaining that the state is cutting daycare funding, but let’s be honest: the program was being abused. Over the past few years, private daycare owners were getting rich, putting up brand-new buildings while local schools struggled. The state was clearly overpaying, and it wasn’t sustainable.

The funding should be cut. Taxpayer dollars weren’t being used responsibly. If anything, the entire program should be shut down and restarted the right way from the ground up.

Instead of fighting to keep a broken system alive, politicians should focus on reinstating the program in a cost-effective, efficient way, one that actually serves families without enriching a few private players at public expense.

    2. Isn't it strange that for medicaid/medicare the reimbursement rates are minimal - for some reason child care reimbursement rates are more than the going rate! I assume it's the way you buy votes - you boost funding for childcare - and you don't even do it correctly by expanding eligibility rather you just throw more money at the providers! Can someone explain the cut - child care was not cut in the federal bill so why exactly was the funding for ccap cut? is the plan to redirect federal funds from ccap to other "pet" programs that were cut? Info online is very vague why funding for ccap is getting slashed...

  13. It only got worse but fundamentally has not changed since I came here in 1985. The Yeshiva did not explicitly endorse candidates, but now they will:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/30/us/johnson-amendment-church-free-speech.html

The town is hopeless and will remain so until the people perform their sacred duty to vote responsibly and hold officials accountable. As said, I am done with Lakewood. We expect the appellate decisions soon, it's been four months since oral argument, but it is a complicated manner and likely will be felt throughout the nation. There is no leadership in town, just a bunch of puny, arrogant fief bosses, but no central authority to get them all in line. Everything is delegated to some boss. No one has the guts to provide the leadership necessary for the common good. Even changing the town charter to a mayor/counsel system will not help.

The people of Lakewood are not ready for justice and liberty. That won't change until its youth learn American history and government, which is more important to the survival of the republic than math or language arts. America is first, not federally mandated globalism. Hopefully the rest of the nation will concentrate more on these core civic subjects as education returns more robustly to the states, the place in which the Constitution reserved that power. AL
