- Agudah chairman's take: Today's legislative win, a Federal Scholarship Tax Credit being included in the newly passed bill, represents that- the thankless, sometimes overwhelming, lonely work of one yachid after another, twelve years worth of Agudath Israel staffers focused on a goal that few believed would ever pass. Only the One Who keeps cheshbon knows the names of the individuals who gave heart, soul, energy and time to this mission, but in Shamayim, they will no doubt be included among the greatest supporters of Torah in history, responsible for easing the plight of tens of thousands of yeshivah parents. Our only reaction is one of shirah- to the Borei Olam, and to these heroes. Over the last week, we saw the roller coaster of optimism, then crushing disappointment, how easy it is to give up and say "I tried." They never stopped trying, though, and today, we sing: Az yashir Yisrael...

  1. A seudas Achashveirosh-style event marked by significant breaches of modesty and decorum. Men and women mingled freely, including non-Jews, while indulging in food reportedly kosher hot dogs from Meal Mart amid an atmosphere more reflective of secular entertainment than Torah values and some were dressed inappropriately, and the environment lacked the standards of tznius expected in a Jewish setting but hey this is supposed to teach middos to our children this is kosher outlet for them

  2. STATEMENT FROM THE ELI EISENBACH CAMPAIGN
Candidate for Lakewood Board of Education
RE: Toms River Bankruptcy Crisis and the Failure of Trenton’s School Funding Formula

“The looming bankruptcy of the Toms River Regional School District is a direct result of Trenton's broken, politically-driven school funding formula—and it should be a wake-up call for every community in New Jersey. Toms River has lost $175 million in state aid over recent years. Now they’re being forced to consider massive property tax hikes, asset sales, and devastating cuts to student services. This is what happens when the state plays favorites with our children’s futures.

Lakewood has faced similar threats. For years, we’ve had to go begging to the state for emergency funding, while the flawed formula continues to shortchange our students and punish our taxpayers.

As a member of the Lakewood Board of Education, I will make it my mission to lead the charge statewide to demand a full overhaul of the school funding formula—one that is based on real enrollment, real need, and real fairness, not political pressure or outdated data. I will fight to ensure that no district—Lakewood, Toms River, or anywhere else—has to choose between bankruptcy and abandoning their students.

Enough is enough. Trenton has failed. It’s time for local leadership to step up—and I’m ready to get to work on Day One.”

    Candidate, Lakewood Board of Education

    1. State playing favorites -- you mean minority district known as Abbott Districts which are almost completely financed by Trenton.
Republocans annually try to do something about it, but Demoncrats and the knucklehead-in-chief support increasing taxes .

You know, the original purpose of limiting the SALT deduction limits was to encourage states to cut taxes
But not NJ, taxes are sacrosant here.

The filthy trashy YWN who has been canceling large segments of klal yisroel for years,, all of a sudden is worried about cancel culture!!!

What have they done to Eitz and peleg all the years
What have they done to anyone who their phony one man editorial board didn't agree with all these years
Labeling anyone who disagrees with their hashkafos as kanaaim is the biggest attempt at cancel culture

It's pretty telling that if the Bais Havaad has to resort to fake mail bag letters on YWN they are in deep crisis

  4. What exactly has Assemblyman Avi Schnall accomplished, aside from taking credit for dome annual grants that were already coming before he was elected? He’s been helpful to the big organizations, sure but what has he actually done for the average middle-class taxpayer?

Families are now facing higher daycare costs, and Lakewood property taxes are going up again—by an average of $800 to $1,000. Where are all his so-called "big connections" in the Assembly now?

Who is he really working for?

Meanwhile, the state has been cutting back funding for Lakewood and Toms River. As for the recently passed tuition bill he didn’t need to get elected in Trenton to speak out about that. Making noise is easy. Delivering results for everyday families is what counts.

  6. 24six is pushing the envelope with progressive podcasts and singers that are highly problematic, such as Israeli singer who SING with women. And they have the audacity to advertise they're for Yeshiva people when the Lakewood RY signed against them?!

  7. Why doesn't the Lakewood school district declare bankruptcy just like Toms River did they would discharge all the loans they owe the state which they have no hope in repaying regardless. The state would then have to step in and pay the bill Win win. Is it because all the movers and shakers have contracts with the school district which would be voided if the School District declared bankruptcy??

It was only passed because of President Trump who the Agudah leadership has publicly despised him and ridiculed him he was publicly attacked at their keynote convention speech.
