B"H, Rabbi Binyomin Kubani was released today from the Ocean County Jail. While we are deeply relieved that this chapter has come to a close, the pursuit of justice is far from over. We remain steadfast in our commitment to proving Rabbi Kubani’s innocence and clearing his name fully.
We firmly believe that Rabbi Kubani was wrongly accused. Our team will continue working tirelessly to uncover the truth, gather evidence, and pursue every available avenue to vindicate him.
We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering support of the Rosh HaYeshivas—Rabbi Yosef Heinaman, Rabbi Sruli Burzstyn, Meir Lichtenstein, and Moshe Tress—as well as the entire Lakewood community. DOJ Closes Epstein Case, Says No Proof of Murder or Secret ‘Client List’
- Six years after Jeffrey Epstein’s death sparked countless conspiracy theories, federal investigators have announced they’ve found no proof he kept a “client list” or was murdered in his Manhattan jail cell.
Can someone explain why the'askanim' care so much if there was a protest outside police department.?
ReplyDeleteThis yungerman was arrested Thursday evening and sat in jail the entire Friday. The askanim of Lakewood including the police liaisons and machers were completely AWOL and nowhere to be found. You can just imagine: if it had been someone with connections, they would have been all over the case right away. But Shabbos came and went, and still, nothing was done. It was only some yungeleit in yeshiva who heard about it and made a ra’ash to the hanhalah. On Motzei Shabbos, family and friends finally took action. They protested at police headquarters and brought the Roshei Yeshiva down all organized by regular people, friends of R’ Binyomin.
DeleteAs the pressure picked up, the askanim and politicians suddenly woke up and tried to take control of the narrative. But the grassroots campaign led by simple Lakewood residents didn’t sit well with the entrenched askanim. They didn’t like the “rabble-rousing” that made them look bad or risked their relationships with the police and other officials.
They quickly moved to shut down the planned 2:00 PM protest on Sunday by organizing a pre-emptive atzeres tefillah in BMG at 1:15 PM. They even tried discouraging bochurim and local residents from attending the protest. But it didn’t work people still showed up, despite self-appointed askanim trying to tell them to leave and go back to yeshiva.
The bottom line is: the askanim who claim to be so connected and important did absolutely nothing to help R’ Binyomin. They were exposed publicly for their inaction.
It’s time the community takes back control from these self-appointed askanim and liaisons many of whom are only in it for power or personal gain.
Now is the time to FIX THE FORMULA!!!!!!!
DeleteShameful lakewood townahip..Let's raise taxes because we want to hire more police..
ReplyDeleteIs crime up is there a real need to hire 55 employees?
If there's no money you don't hire period. Stop stealing more tax money while you give out tax abatements to well connected buddies
This town steals from the poor to help the rich
Yep.Oldest system in the world. Now come to your neck in the woods
DeleteMaybe if the cops dont take jobs from Construction companies that pay them 130.00 an hour , they would be available to do their jobs they were hired for?????
Deletewe can sue in superior court to stop the budget. we can argue no need for 15 police . we can win. start the process!!!!!!!!!
DeleteSample letter to government officials:
ReplyDeleteGood morning,
I hope this correspondence finds you well. I have a very straight forward question. In instances of alleged non violent crimes why does NJ incarcerate the accused as opposed to fitting the suspect with a tracking device?
Currently, the assumption of innocent until proven guilty often translates into a suspect being held in jail stripped of all their constitutional rights until they can be seen by a judge.
Thank you in advance,
Luring is a serious felony, and if convicted he would need to register as a s.. offender for life. This is NOT non violent crime
Deletewill I as a HUD reciepient get effected with property taxes going up? I have a 4 bedroom so I have no need to move.
ReplyDeleteNo, lucky you.
DeleteI am low income and have no official income
DeleteIf there is growth then revenue should be increasing anyway. Why raise taxes?
ReplyDeleteThe more growth, the less money from Trenton to cover the township budget (we become a "richer" town), hence, more property taxes to pay for the growth in expenses (as well as to cover the annual inflation).
DeleteI am absolutely not dying this business that the text needs to increase to accommodate more people The reality is more construction brings in more revenue and costs don't increase linearly unless there are all those people getting tax abatements for absolutely no reason but being connected to the right people.
Delete@954 If you are talking about businesses you are right but for homes on the other hand - they cost more then they bring in - do your research - HH rightfully been telling us this for years!
DeleteThere is a very good lawyer in Freehold, Thomas Malin, he goes after
ReplyDeletePolice departments, prosecutors, etc. They should hire him for the case, not the local tummlers.
This week's Ami magazine did not have the Bais Havaad weekly article.
ReplyDeleteIs that because of the letter from Rabbonim against the BD
Hearing this afternoon for the hostage of ocean county
ReplyDeleteIt seems that the average yungerman or bochur does not understand how the criminal system works. Saying he should be fitted with a tracking device and released is not how it works. There is a process, and while it may not be fair, its a process that's applied equally to everyone. Where the askanim failed is that they allowed him to be transferred to the custody of the Ocean County Prosecutor. The police have the ability to release him with a criminal warrant.
ReplyDeleteApparently, since this was a holiday weekend, anyone in charge was out, and these decisions were made by low level officers, who I am sure cherished their ability to send a jew to prison for what they knew would be a long weekend.
By the time shabbos evening arrived, there was nothing that could be done. It was in the hands of the Ocean county prosecutor, not the local police.
For the record, the prosecutor is appointed by the governor, and serves for 5 years. This is his second term. Our askanim were unable to stop his second term, even though he has a poor record with our community. This is because on a State level we have very little power.
And comfirmed by senate. Unanimously in this case- Including OUR AMAZING FRIEND THAT DOES EVERYTHING FOR US ETC. ETC. BOB SINGER
DeleteThank you for the clarification. You are correct regarding the policy and this particular case. I was suggesting that we petition the appropriate government officials to consider policy changes in regard to those accused of non-violent crimes. Incarceration strips the alleged of their constitutional rights and is very costly compared to implementing the usage of a tracking device.
DeleteThere already is a mechanism in place for that, it is called "Criminal summons". In this case, luring a child, if true, is not a non-violent crime, and is treated as a serious crime. Had the races/religions been reversed, we would be screaming if he was simply let go.
DeleteThis is not a systematic issue. The issue is our askanim being unable to intervene when it was called for. The question is at what point they got involved, and if at that point it was already too late to change the outcome.
We also don't know the exact claim the "victim" made, all we know is what we've been fed from the heimishe news outlets. If the "victim" made a serious claim, it is the responsibility of the police department to investigate it properly.
Individuals who owe child support can and have been locked up waiting to be seen by a judge. If the person was forced to wear a tracking device and failed to appear to a scheduled court date, the sheriffs office can arrest them.
Delete"is because on a State level we have very little"..what?
Delete& All those bragging interviews about how overwhelmingly influential our community elite askanim proudly wield, going back before Corzine, in Trenton were just plain false??
Part of the reason for the 12% raise in taxes this year is due to our committeemen having voted for themselves gigantic raises throughout the past few years. It's now pay-up time for the taxpayer..
ReplyDeleteTime to vote all the incumbents out. They have been there for 20 years and our quality of life has gone way down.
ReplyDeleteWhat point are you making? That those that can't make decisions בשוק החיים cannot decide Halacha either?
Deleteo החזו"א also told people: Some are big in Torah but small menschen, Others are smaller in TOrah but bigger menschen
DeleteWAKE UP LAKEWOOD YOU ARE GETTING TAXED OUT OF YOUR HOME
ReplyDeleteTaxes should be decided by a referendum Not by some township employees.
People don't realize there annual expenses is going up by a thousand dollars for local taxes with fire and Boe. This iS an outrage
Why is Ray Coles allowed to dov this without facing the public
What about the other committee members.
CHUTZPAH
It's time to hold a public rally and appoint official community liaisons that will be reappointment every year based on record
ReplyDeleteThe current system stinks its all self promoted individuals who either own a media company or have a position of power that the police gains from it. None of these people are here to serve the olam as was evident over the weekend.
The LPD must take away all the access given out and start from scratch with full community involvement in a transparent manner
Askanim can arrange major meetings on erev shabbos as they did with the Josh Gottheimer campaign and tried to force the entire town to vote by calling all rabbonim to speak in shuls this was all done on Friday afternoon a few hours before shabbos.
ReplyDeleteThe askanim dropped the ball and were exposed
That's it. Keep on voting these people back into office. The axe says to the forest, vote me in, I'm one of you.
ReplyDeleteIt is embarrassing to read the claims of anti-semitism in some outlets.
ReplyDeleteThere is no reason to believe antisemitism was involved here at all. For the past thirty years we have had no incidents of bias from the police. Why should we think that something suddenly changed?
The askanim dropping the ball is for sure. If they had any integrity or strength of character, they would admit their mistake. If they don't, we should learn our lesson.
As usual askanim taking credit
ReplyDeleteYep. Later this week: Fawning Interviews in magazines
