Israel at war day 657
- Macron: France will recognize a Palestinian state, at the UN General Assembly in September
- Steve Witkoff: We decided to bring our team back from Doha for consultations following Hams’s latest response, which clearly indicates its UNWILLINGNESS to reach a ceasefire in Gaza. Although the mediation efforts were significant, it seems that Hams is NOT acting in good faith. We will now consider ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS to bring the hostages home and create a more stable environment for the residents of Gaza.
- Israel Prime Minister's Office: In light of the response Hamas gave this morning, it was decided to return the negotiation team for further consultations in Israel. We appreciate the efforts of the mediators from Qatar and Egypt, as well as the efforts of the envoy Witkoff, to bring about a breakthrough in the talks.
- Israel Hayom: IDF prepares to expand maneuvers in Gaza in light of Hams' problematic response
- A car-ramming attack near Kfar Yona (Center of Israel). 8 injured from a vehicle ramming, including two moderate and five light injuries.
Eight soldiers were injured in a car-ramming attack near Netanya in central Israel on Thursday, with police launching a manhunt for the driver who fled the scene and then abandoned the vehicle. Two of the victims, a man and a woman aged 20 and 18 respectively, suffered moderate injuries. Three others were in light-to-moderate condition, and three were lightly injured, the Magen David Adom emergency service said. The incident happened on Route 57 near the entrance to Kfar Yona.
- PA Chairman Abbas: I call on Israel to immediately withdraw from the Gaza Strip and allow the State of Palestine to assume responsibility for the Strip.
- Two senior Israeli officials: Contrary to the optimistic atmosphere, there is NO progress; in fact, the situation is one of hardening positions by Hams in most areas of the negotiations, from withdrawal lines through the number of hostages to the elimination of American aid.
