Why are the committeemen giving another open-ended 106K a year contract to "Datamaps" from Carasaljo Street to perform land management "consultation" services for them?? What's the real story behind this shady deal?
ReplyDeleteYeah.. that "contract" has always been a fishy one. Maybe they need extra help to figure out which tax-payer owned properties can be land swapped?
DeleteLakewood is the land flowing with milk and money
DeleteAnon 12:38,
DeleteHmmmm... sounds more like flowing green milk. But since this is pretty much a black and white situation, we can just leave it as flowing white milk.. LOL
Does it cost 106k to make a Excell sheet today with Google maps this is no major deal
DeleteWhy wasn't it put out to bid

ReplyDeleteMatzav and tls publish a paid PR letter from bais havaad after not publishing the kol koreh from many gedolim. Reminds me of wzo.
ReplyDeleteYou’re surprised??? You gave the answer it’s matzav and TLS.
DeleteWhy is the Bais Din matter being played out in public? The results of the public discord will be individuals ignoring Rabbanim and Batei Din.
ReplyDeleteAsk the unscrupulous "kanaim" which were disgruntled and publicized their twisted disrespect for an esteemed beis din and its rabbonim.
DeleteWell there has been kol korays plastered all over the place against this bais din so yes the bais din has no choice but to put out some PR explaining their side of the story.
DeleteAt this point I think it's obvious how this will play out, the panel will rule against BH and couch it in very careful terms so it is only a small slap on the wrist, and after all the BH themselves have refrained from pushing their decision and sort of backed off so it won't reflect all that bad on them it will be considered one decision out of hundreds which has been overturned which is a pretty good batting average.
DeleteHowever the other side which has a whole list of alleged abuses and are trying to shut the BH down will be left out in the cold.
So in short this will be a Lifeline for the BH.
It dosent appear to pr to me. It appears to be a straightforward letter from the rosh of the place. It comes across very clear and explanatory to me
Delete@5:43 Anyone who's on the losing end of a court case doesn't have the right or privilege to slap a label of abuse on it and devise methods to tear down the institution. People may not always walk out happy. The Torah, its rule, and the Chachmei HaTorah will continue to stand.
DeleteToday's Bais Din system in the USA is totally broken. It is 100% fixed for the side with money or yichus. A total sham!!!
ReplyDeleteComplete sheker!
DeleteYou may have lost in Beis Din, but that doesn't make the system broken. We have two highly competent Batei Din in Lakewood, and I have personal experience with that.
In dinei momenos you may be correct, but when it comes to gittin and child support, we have issues.
DeleteI know of the Bais horaah I’m not sure the other one? Can you elaborate
Deletewhen it comes to child support and custody and in general rabbonim dealing with sholam bayis, are the rabbonim thinking with their heads? because it seems like there is tremendous bias
DeleteThe Bais Horaah doesn't have a Beis Din.
DeleteFor Gittin, the only practical Beis Din in town is the Bais Havaad. They do the vast majority of Gittin in town, and those who give advice to people in this situation are pleased with the results.
For Dinei Torah, Maysharim are also great.
If an agreement can be worked out sans a Bais Din that is the best way to handle it. As far as a Get Rabbi Yankel Berman can arrange it.
DeleteIt's important to note that Toenim and lawyers (aka lier's) are looking for prolonged litigation as their income stream depends on it. Even those that are busy like keeping "a bird in the hand". Having stated that, if it's advesorioal and one side lawyers up, it's likely prudent to do so as well. Just keep your wits about you and keep your correspondence with your representation to a minimum. They are not your friend or therapist and the relationship is a business one. This is true even if you are friends or a good aquenitance . May the עושה שלום במרומיו be עושה שלום עלינו ועל כל ישראל
DeleteWe keep getting the same BHV spinmaster here. There are a couple of hangers on, but your articulate and super effective comments style comes through clear.
ReplyDeleteYour attempts to push, that its extremists and its causing public discord, and that BHV is so effective and respected in town are admirable. However your disdain and bitul of true Gedolim who don't believe whatever good comes from this moisad is outweighed by the horror which is too often the outcome, IS COMPLETETLY SICK. You are an arrogant cynic worthy of being a messenger for your cause.
"super effective comments style"? did you mean "affective"?
DeleteI haven't read any 'disdain' of 'true Gedolim' or any Gedolim. I don't think Hefkervelt would even allow that.
DeleteNot that effective, as it turns out.
DeleteI am the spinmaster, author of two of the above comments. I am well in the in between the rabbonim, and have checked in with more than two dozen of them this week. They are all in line with the work of the Beis din and are also aware that the sham hit job, with its manipulated appearance of rabbinic backing and righteousness, will be exposed for what it is.
ReplyDeleteAll bais dins, when it come to money matters are completely corrupt. They don't pasken like Halacha on amounts and who owes who but instead they make pshara which means its not the true Halacha of who owes who and how much but they make an amount in the middle which is COMPLETELY WRONG AND CORRUPT especially for people designed to be Jewish judges and is a major chillul Hashem
ReplyDeleteum i think you forgot a gemarah
Deletebais dins today usually pasken according to what is known as "pshara karov l'din" and both sides agree to this before they start the din torah. it is almost impossible to pasken according to "true" halacha because the muchzak will almost always have at least one daas yachid that he is right, and he will always be able to claim "kim li." Thus, the muchzak will always win. this is not "corrupt", "completely wrong" or a "chilul hashem". i suspect that you are not personally familiar with the bais din system and are just repeating things you heard. of course, there are major flaws in the bais din system but what you are saying is not one of them.
DeleteI suggest you learn some halacha before spouting. Pshara does not mean 'somewhere in the middle'.
DeleteSo, nu, the "beis din" wrote that they're willing to go to a Beis Din. What did they write about accepting the ruling of the Beis Din?
ReplyDeleteIf the Beis Din makes it clear that the heter is nonexistent
1) Will the signatories who publicized their willingness to go to this Beis Din personally accept responsibility to undo the union?
2) Will the "beis din" simply state: זה עתה קבלנו פסק הבית דין ובאנו בזה להודיע שבודאי כאשר הורו כן יקום, וכבר מסרנו פסק הב"ד לבעלי הדבר שאין תוקף לביטול הכהונה כלל וכלל, ולשומעים יונם ותבא עליהם ברכות טוב, וה' יגדור פרצות עמו ישראל
However, in private, they will encourage the couple to remain together and tell them that they may rely on the psak of those who based their psak on us. They will give them honor as a couple, and in practicality ignore the psak?
If they do this, will they at least accept real oversight?
3) Will they simply state: we accept the psak beis din, but we never gave the heter. We have no involvement with a Chicago rabbi, a LA rabbi, and a Brooklyn rabbi. We're not involved.
Which one will it be?
First, they demanded the BD/Rabbanim show their reasoning to other Rabbanim. They, they graduated to demanding they go to a Beis Din. This continued to new levels of אופן המניח את דעתינו, that the signers of the sign have to have their הנחת הדעת. Now the BD/Rabbanim have to commit to undo the union.
DeleteIf anybody wanted to know why no outside BD or Rav has been involved, here is the reason. The conditions keep on changing to make sure no outside authority has any input.
What if the 3rd party Bais Din paskens that the ruling was k'halacha and that there is no reason for a retraction, will all the rabonim who signed against Bais Havaad publicly retract their kol korei?
DeleteWill all the baalei loshon hora come to ask mechila?
forget about the marriage.
DeleteAs long as the rest of the family can continue to duchen, collect pidyon haben, get the first Aliyah etc.
Problem is, you'll never know if some shul / Rav doesn't let them
Just like à young lady (originally) from Philadelphia remarried without a get, Rav. Dovid told the Mesader Kiddushin to tell them to divorce, and she goes on to have a daughter.
Problem is contrary to what is being portrayed as a meyuchas family etc. Family members were not doing Pidyon haben before this... Do your research.
DeleteWasn't the psak given without the BH? not sure if any outcome regarding the BH will change anything.
Let's put aside halacha for a moment say I wanted to bring one of the roshei yeshiva of Lakewood to din torah at the BH for a legitimate reason. I would eat my hat that they wouldn't take the case, they would find some excuse or Reason Why to send me elsewhere. It's no secret that at the BH and elsewhere they avoid certain cases and not because it doesn't have Merit. Why is it that they took this case which would invalidate a very large family with tens of kohanim??? Why would various movers and shakers put in so much effort to get a heter was it for the love of another Jew or was it for a Love of Money?? Say the person seeking the heter was actually very poor would we be here?
