Israel At War Tuesday July 8

 Israel  at war day 641

- Trump: There is a Palestinian Senator, his name is Chuck Schumer, who is a great Palestinian; he abandoned the Jews.

- Trump confirms: Netanyahu will come again and we will talk mainly about Gaza. He is being treated very unfairly. Gaza needs to be resolved. It is a tragedy.

- Witkoff: We are in close talks. We hope that by the end of the week, there will be an agreement. Ten hostages will be released. We are in contact with the families, and we hope that this will lead to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

- Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Syrian President al-Shara are expected to meet in Washington, D.C., ahead of the UN General Assembly in September  the meeting, which will take place at the White House, Netanyahu and al-Shara will sign a security agreement, under the auspices of US President Trump.
According to the source, this will be the first step towards a peace and normalization agreement between the two countries.

- Reuters: According to a senior source close to the prime minister, Netanyahu is now considering a strategic initiative - a broader and more powerful attack against Iran.
According to the report, Netanyahu believes that the military "window of opportunity" against Iran is still open, as Iran has not yet recovered from the recent attacks and has not yet rebuilt its capabilities. The source added that the prime minister is not satisfied with the results of the operation and is considering expanding the military action, with the understanding that Iran could become stronger again if Israel does not restrain it.

- Netanyahu on the possibility of B2 bombers to Israel: “Would I like Israel to have the capabilities of the US? Of course I do, who wouldn't want that? We are grateful for the help the US has given us for our security and the security of the free world in general. I won't go into details; some things should be kept for confidential forums."

- Netanyahu, in a statement to Congress, said, "We have not yet completed the war (Gaza). We are talking about a ceasefire, but we will also be ready to resume the war. We see this eye to eye with the US. We are fighting against a cruel and cynical enemy, and we should not give him our plans. People did not believe we would complete our goals, but we achieved them."

- Netanyahu in a statement from Washington - We received the Witkoff proposal, we got closer to it, and I hope we will get there. I am focused on the result, and so is President Trump. We have learned that when Israel and the US stand together, great things happen, and it has never been like this. In 77 years, there has never been such trust and cooperation as today.

-Senior Israeli political official describes after the Netanyahu-Trump meeting: "There will be no Hamas. Hamas will be disbanded, and their weapons will be laid down. Their people will surrender, and their leaders will be exiled. This is the final picture, when another entity takes over the Strip. There should be a different governing system in the Gaza Strip. I do not accept as a condition that in the first stage these will not be us. We will be responsible for security"

-Netanyahu: “On this difficult morning, the entire Israeli people bow their heads and mourn the fall of our heroic fighters, who sacrificed their lives in the campaign to defeat Hams and free all our hostages. We embrace the families who lost their dearest, and pray for the full recovery of those injured in the incident”

- Q: What might make you have the desire to do another strike on Iran? Trump: "I hope we're not going to have to do that. I can't imagine wanting to do that. I can't imagine them wanting to do that. They want to meet ... they want to work something out."

-Netanyahu on the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state: The Palestinians should have the ability to lead themselves but not the ability to harm us. No one in Israel agrees to anything else—we want to live.

- Netanyahu was asked if he feared being arrested in New York if the Democratic mayoral candidate who promised to arrest him wins. Trump interjects and replies, "I'll get him out." Netanyahu replies, "I'll come to New York with Trump, we'll see him."
