Rav Elya Ber Wachchtfogel this morning in yeshiva at the daily chofetz chaim shiur on shemiras halashon (photo credit Dovid Cohen)

Is there a reason R' Elya's tefillin are so small? In general I only see that here in Israel on people who wear them all day, is that his practice as well?
ReplyDeleteHe wears tefillin all day
DeleteHe does not wear tefillin all day.
DeleteNor does he go to the mikvah 3 times a day.
Nor does he put on 24 pairs of tefillin.
Nor does he wear tefillin during shiur.
No all the other baba maisis that chasidim like to make up.
What Chassidim?
DeleteYou mean chassidim wannabes.
So far as I know he tries to wear them as much as he can
ReplyDeleteInteresting that this entire bais havaad issue nobody from Lakewood signed . When it comes to Lakewood issues typically the outside rabonim say speak to Lakewood rabonim. Somehow with this bais havaad all the signors are from out of Lakewood. I think that says it all. Not a regular case. From what I understand there are many choshuveh rabonim who told the 'kohen' that he can marry the gioroes.
ReplyDeletePeople from Lakewood signed over this issue
DeleteSee rav Eliyahu levin's letter where he says the heter was good and one should ignore the rabble rousers who are not interested in the truth.
DeleteWhat exactly is good without explaining the heater?
DeleteThere is a story going around that the "kol korei" going around sigantures against the bais havaad are a forgery .
DeleteR Eliyahu Levine is also for voting in the WZO.His supporters who need him now abandoned him just recently
DeleteIf he says to vote on the WZO, that is the halacha.
DeleteWhen you listen to krias hatorah. Make sure your neighbors can hear the kriah instead of your mumbling.
ReplyDeleteAttention:
ReplyDeleteTznius alert in the Bais Havaad story link
That's besides for the issues of ביזוי תלמידי חכמים and לא תהיה כקרח ועדתו.
I'm ח"ו not reffering to the gedolei rabonim who mean only lshem shomayim, rather the hamon am being dragged into this
Who is being dragged in .Too many on these Bris Havaads are the hamon am in all but name
DeleteHis Father also went with such tiffillen. Could be easier to keep in proper place
ReplyDeleteמקום יש בראש להניח שתי תפילין
DeleteThose who treat this matter on the level of someone who suffers from OCD should address their underlying issue! The aforementioned is not in any way meant to discourage individuals from checking as halacah dictates!
2 fingers is the assumed size of teffilin in chazal. There is room for 2 pairs, meaning 4 fingers space (fingers means thumbs)
DeleteIf you wear giant teffilin, which most teffilin are, u have to make sure they are basically centered for a moment at least.
If you wear smaller teffilin, they will almost always be within the 4 fingers space.
When u daven, see that it is beneimus, not animal sounds
ReplyDeleteWhen u pass gas on Shabbos by davening, please at least do it quietly, bad enough we have to smell it, we don't need to hear it too. Lol
ReplyDeleteWhen you think such of things we don't need to hear them either.
DeleteWho already is the head of this Bais havaad?
ReplyDeleteFunny, you only have the Bais Havaad trolls over here. Listen to their commenters. Bunch of low-level wannabe poskim and sophisticated professional at the same time.
ReplyDeleteR Eli ber camp is not online
Philly dittobots
DeleteWho is Eli beer?
ReplyDeleteWill hefkervelt post the new letter from rav Gurwitz shlita saying one should vote for eretz hakodesh just as they posted the letter from other rabbannim in England claiming all Gedolim hold doing so is assur?
ReplyDeleteWhy don't the RY of Lakewood go with hamburgs like R Shnair, and R Aaron??
ReplyDeleteThe present brim up hat style they go with is interesting because it's more of a wannabe Chadsidishe hat! Lol
ReplyDeleteRav Dovid Cohen, the preeminent posek in America and Canada by a long shot who has been a posek for the most complex Even Ha'ezer sheilos for years, was matir him to marry her, so the case is closed. Period.
ReplyDeleteWhat that satire or sarcasm?
DeleteAny maverick whoever aligns with you gets anointed? Lead us through the process
DeleteFYI, Rav Chaim Kanievski zatzal held Rav Dovid Cohen and his tens of wonderful seforim in the highest esteem. He learned through all his seforim and was mechabed R Dovid with siddur kiddushin for his grandson. At least in Eretz Yisrael they had the seichel to be machshiv true gedolei yisrael, but in Lakewood this gadol hador who knows kal hatorah kulah is shunned. Insanity (and I live in Lakewood)
DeleteWe are more familiar on the ground with intangibles such as envelope pushing;hip shooting andrenalin; private yir'ah
DeleteWhile R'CK was mechabed everybody.Pretty much EVERYBODY. From all walks of life.
I see. So you, or anyone else in this town of ours, are more familiar with the "intangibles" than a senior gadol like Rav David Cohen, who besides everything else, knows the entire Even Ha'ezer on his fingertips with all the nose'ei keilim, and has 70 years of experience paskening the most complex she'eilos has. Ridiculous is putting it lightly.
DeleteYes.We are very familiar, way back, the good; the less than good; the attitudes;the need to show how contrarian radical
DeleteIf I had any clue as to what you're talking about, I might respond.
DeleteToo many censored comments happening on this post
DeleteIs there an intelligence test I need to fail to get permission to post here or everything gets posted.
ReplyDeleteGo post.You failed already.

ReplyDeleteThe psak heter was issued in Los Angeles by R Bess bais din. If you know R Bess you would not question his integrity.
ReplyDeleteThey determined that the giyores is not a giyores her mother was pregnant at the time of her geirus so she, the mother, was a jewess at the time of her daughter's birth making her daughter a jewess not a giyores Yes the bais din for the geirus was conservative but all the Rabbonim were orthodox and she became shomer Torah umitzvos
As for the cohen they determined that he was not a cohen. His grandmother in a second marriage married a cohen who adopted her children. His family is not happy with that. They have the money and connections and are fighting the psak of a legitimate batei din.
The psak was forwarded to the Bais Havaad who did chakira and validated R Bess' psak.
the cause of the family of the cohen (not) has been taken up by baalei machlokes and kanaim with personal agendas. Some of the signatories sign their names to everything. I personally know one Rosh yeshiva has it in for the bais havaad for years because they paskened against a talmid.
As far as I am concerned R Eliyahu is the biggest talmid chochom in America today. I personally have gone to him with issues and his standard response is tzarich chakira. An the signatories on this letter say the same? You rarely see R Eliyahu signature on all these kol kores circulating over the years. If he stands behind this psak which he does that is good enough for me
I don't think the heter was based on the kashrus of the mother's geirus. I think the Beis Hava'ad categorically refused to accept that, and Rabbi Bess did not go with it.
DeleteInteresting fiction story. Either way i find it ironic that in this case rabbi levine does not claim to have investigated the case and the signers against him say they went through the case
Deletethere are big problems with the bais havaad from relying on hypnosis as evidence to much much worse
