The Lakewood Industrial Commission LIC is putting it up for auction a 70 acre parcel of land with a minimum asking price of $25 Million dollars. It is located off Airport rd and Cedarbridge avenue. The public bidding will take place on Wednesday May 22, 2019 1:30 pm at the municipal building 2nd floor conference room C.
The LIC takes control of all deals and properties that are in its jurisdiction. The money and revenue generated in industrial park from township owned land usually goes back to the LIC budget account not to the township coffers. The money from the Blueclaws lease for the stadium goes to the LIC account.
What will the town do with the money. They should not have raised taxes. 25 million dollars is a quarter of the municipal budget.
ReplyDeleteI’m clearly missing something- this is township owned land but it’s profits benefit LIC. Why? What is their budget? This is NOT ok!
ReplyDeleteWho runs the LIC?? I can’t find anything about them on line. Seems rather suspicious that taxes are being raised and the BOE is cutting programs cause the township is struggling. Why is this money NOT going to the town but rather a unnecessary commission?
ReplyDeleteLIC should be closed down. Stay Tuned.
