US ambassador Mike Huckabee visits Rav Dov Landau shlita. The R"Y told him  "Ask President Trump to care for the  Torah world;  and we thank him for all he does to establish peace in the world as the USA is a Malchus shel chesed."

Rav Dov read a statement: It is important for me to tell His Excellency the Ambassador that the community of Torah and mitzvah observant Jews here in the Holy Land is currently in great distress, as the judicial system issues arrest warrants against yeshiva students, Torah learners, for the "crime" of studying Torah.
The Ambassador: I understand and agree that without the Torah and without Torah learners, nothing has value.

    1. The event is for chasidim who live in Lakewood and participate in the local economy including paying property tax and patronizing our businesses.
Your comment is disgusting and sinas chinam.
And for the record, the chasidim of KJ would help any yid, regardless of affiliation and even a litvak.

    2. yes, the chasidim of KJ would love it if hundreds of litvishe families suddenly moved in and they would pour their tax dolars out to help them.

  4. If you're going to bring him on board, would be so much better bring him aboard to go after the pseudo Judicial system in toto, which will accomplish this same goal- & also much more of course. Rather than [betraying your natural allies again for] your very narrow parochial sectoral agenda

Personally told the same to Dave Hofstetter

He should be putting out public statements urging his colleagues and democrat candidate Sherill to fully support it

  6. The crackdown on rentals in Jackson and Howell appears to be driven by individuals within our own community, those with deep pockets who are eager to see their neighborhoods change over quickly to suit their vision of quality of life. It’s deeply troubling to see them targeting struggling young couples who have scraped together every last penny just to make a down payment on a modest home in an up-and-coming area. These couples are simply trying to hold onto their homes for a few years until they can fully afford the monthly mortgage.
What’s especially upsetting is that some of those now speaking out against landlords were themselves beneficiaries of lower home prices not long ago. Yet now, they’re using their influence both in political circles and with rabbonim to push through polished kol korehs and persuade township officials to pass ordinances that hurt others in the community. This use of power and money, without rachmanus or consideration for others, is becoming reckless. Instead of showing rachmanus, there is an increasing sense of achzariyus toward fellow Yidden who are just trying to find a home and place for their growing families.

    2. What about the lack of rachmanus or consideration for others, and achzariyus of landlords who rent out to undesirables who ruin the quality of life for the neighbors on the block? It's happened in so many lovely neighborhoods in Lakewood. Kudos to Jackson for trying to stop this travesty.

    3. Did these young couples ask a shaala first? Over two decades ago I wanted to do the same in "far out" parts of Lakewood. Rabbi Forcheimer told me is assur gamur due to hilchos nizkei schanim and OTHER issues that I don't want to write online. So did another Adam Gadol I spoke to.

    4. So because you are a kollel couple buying a house in a cheap neighborhood and hope that it will change and become more expensive, that gives you a right to not maintain the home and be an eyesore to your neighbors? Why is your feelings more important than your neighbor's quality of life? And why don't you move in yourself instead of subjecting the neighbors? Is it because you don't want to live near the trash that you rent your own home too?
And the neighbors pushing this aren't with deep pockets. They are struggling too, and all they want is a normal block to live on.
It's not a lack of rachmanus to require you to maintain a property. It's your lack of rachmanos that make these kids need to live near the filth that your property has become. The chzariyus toward fellow Yidden is you and your lack of maintenance.
Typical yeshiva man that tries twisting behind the torah to justify his disgusting actions to others.

    5. Such sinas am Haaeetz to talmidei chachomim .
Your sad attempts to deflect and distort the real truth about this rental crackdown abviously hit a nerve. This is not about slums or garbage tenants this is about wealthy individuals who have no patience to wait .
There a deep pockets behind this campaign .it suddenly started.
Do you think the towns didn't have any code enforcement before this?
We know the truth..and sadly once again poor young couples find themselves crushed by the rich and mighty

    6. All landlords, whether they are greedy slumlords or simple young couples trying to get a cheaper price on a home they plan on moving into, are a nuisance to the neighbors and an impediment for the growth of the local community.
Both of them need to be stopped.
No one has a right to trash neighborhoods and cause suffering for the neighbors. Not if you are an investor trying to get rich and not if you are a newlywed being smart about your future home purchase.
This is the local townships learning from Lakewood's mistakes and trying to keep their town from turning into a trash heap
      כל הכבוד

      Delete
    7. 11:26 stop trying to lump slumlords with young couples
this motive behind this crackdown not about suffering neighbors
It's about the wealthy who are trying to establish themselves in certain areas and need mispalelim to fill their majestic new shuls

      Delete
    8. Can someone bring me up to speed?

      Delete
    9. @11:54
If neighbors who are suffering from trash tenants are benefiting from this law, then it's a good law.
Why do you care that majestic shul are going to fill up?
Who cares what this law "is about"?

      Delete
    10. Because this law is harming hundreds of poor young couples at the expense of a fee slumlords. The code enforcement could Crack down on them without this new ordinance.
Those behind this have other motives

    11. It's not just yungeleit, there are many investors owned homes. And contrary to your claim, it pushes up home pricing for everyone by limiting inventory of homes and limiting blocks that are suitable to live on.

  7. I have no problem with young couples buying and renting out a house for a couple of years till they could afford to move in. I have a huge problem which isn't only in jackson howell and Manchester it started in Lalewood is when the investors see an up and coming neighborhood and buy numerous properties and rent them out to low lifes. They're upping the price of homes in the neighborhood as well as taking away possibilities from young couples in addition to the trash they rent it out to. Targeting the young couples isn't the way to deal with it get rabbanim to tell these investors to take their $$$ someplace else.

    1. It's the same investors who've jacked up the home prices In Lakewood and stuffing thousands of more homes selling them for over a million each . while lakewood infrastructure can't support it and it made taxes go up big time while the rich profit
Did we see any kol kereh against that from the rabbonin??
The answer is a resounding NO.

  14. To the fellow that asked r forcheimer and an adom gadol. Do the wealthy ask an adom gadol or r forcheimer? Did the real estate agents ask shailas when they made price wars and priced everyone out of town? Did the well know RE agency who sold house only to brooklyn people for 100k more than houses were selling for at the time ask a shaila??? All of a sudden when it's in their backyard you need to ask a shaila. This town is frum and krum in every aspect .

    1. I knew that the house I did not buy because I was told not to was going to end up being bought by someone who would do it anyway. I knew then that some of the big talkers about not doing such were going to end up doing it themselves when the opportunity presented itself. That does not change what is written in Gemara and Shulchan Aruch.
