DeleteIt is ironic that I am in the best position to help the crooked establishment from sinking us all. No question that the disloyal, do-everything-in-secret, decision-makers in this little corner of the American democratic republic are at the end of their rope. They created an unaccountable deep-state in Lakewood to deplete the public treasury with no return to the rabbim on its investment, undermined my personal parnasa, and opposed my litigation that was in their own interest to support.
ReplyDeleteAlas, I have to put away my personal grievances. I'm one step before the NJ Supreme Court and already got an appellate ruling that the State is not providing a thorough and efficient education in Lakewood. Bl'n we will try our best to keep the schools open, challenge the legality of diverting funds from the special reserve for yeshivas and bussing, and IY"H resolve the matter so that our kids, our property, and posterity prosper and endure. A L
The klal of Lakewood has tremendous Hakaras Hatov for all that you are doing for us for so many years!!!!!! It's a shame that the few people in control are able to fool the klal and hide the ongoing corruption and selfishness of the ones in charge
DeleteThank you. A L
DeleteHow is buying something a 'subsidy'? America buys things from Canada, and pays for it. Why is it a subsidy? Who believes this drivel?
ReplyDeleteWhen you sell something across international lines and don't pay tariffs that is extra funds that can be used for healthcare, covid restrictions enforcement, saving polar bears or whatever liberals love to spend money on.
DeleteHence the US is 'subsiding' Canadian spending habits
Not that hard to understand once you get past you TDS and think a little
Like usual Trump just shoots his mouth off without being clear. Anti Trumpers say he is incorrectly calling the US trading deficit with Canada a subsidy. Pro Trumpers say he means it in more general terms.
DeleteWhen you do someone a favor and buy from him despite that you have your own,
DeleteIn this case is allowing the Canadian lumber industry to undercut the US lumber industry Which costs the government lost taxes and unemployment payments and other entitlement programs For the workers who are unemployed. As long as we have any unemployment anything bought From a foreign country is a loss to the US economy.
How is buying from someone a favor? Canada is doing America a favor by providing lumber, just like America is doing a favor to Canada by buying it. This is a simple transaction.
DeleteStrange that it has to be explained.
If unemployment is a result of the lack of available jobs, you would be right. Meanwhile, it doesn't seem like that is true.
DeleteAnon 1:57 - You are claiming that 'not paying tariffs' is a subsidy. Did you learn in a Yeshiva? Where were you taught such warped logic? There is a deal between people in Canada and people in America to buy products that the other one sells.
DeleteChina is indeed cheating, because they have a planned economy that does not use the same rules as the countries with which they deal, giving them an unfair advantage. (Neither follows supply/demand rules. That is for losers.)
Sorry, 5:02 for our present is the real simpleton
DeleteTo 5:02 -- actually, gemara first perek Berachot says that.
DeleteTariffs are the last best hope for the avg. American.
ReplyDeleteBtw in most cases tariffs have been beneficial. The exceptions were opposite of the our present situation eg late '20s tariffs were bad because America was producing too much compared to others
Nowadays it's producing too little!
TRUMP has lost his mind. Just a big bully. Canadians are tough and won't cave.
ReplyDeleteThey probably will.Though they need to hold up due to local election fodder there.

Everyone should chill and let Trump do his job
