  1. Poor kids can't get a snow day off
This makes no sense that BOE public schools are closed but all yeshivos are open without delays

    1. We should put even more pressure on the parents by keeping their kids home? The roads aren’t bad who cares what the public school is doing.

    2. It makes sense. Parents work and you can’t expect everyone just to have someone to watch their kids.
The roads are clear, And there is no significant extra danger for the busses to be on the road.
The yeshivas and Bais Yaakov’s are sure to give their kids “yard time” in the snow. They will all enjoy.

    3. I don't know about Lakewood, but in the alte heim (,Boro Park and Flatbush), if public schools were closed, yeshivot were closed.

  2. We haven't had a snow day in years. The schools need to give off that Tiesday for mid winter and another day or 2 here and there. The kids need it and so do the teachers. No one can just keep going from Sept thru June without a break. ( Then they wonder why kids go crazy )

  4. Despite everything, the fact that our schools are open and the public schools are closed is a testament to what we value as a community.

  5. Children live for a purpose too..... They need to get educated and learn..... And they need to realize that the world was not created so they can just have fun..... Uneducated people have lousy lives... And it's a lesson some adults need to learn too

  6. The Lakewood school district is a joke
All neighboring public schools are open today. There's no reason for it, those parents work too, and buses were rolling
    What's the excuse
Oh the BOE is crying they have no money what that part of the desicion

  7. Terrible job by LSTA not giving out information for Jackson very confusing and people missed buses

  8. Schools and officials botched this one without giving information. People went to sleep assuming there will be delays and slept in. There was no reason to not provide information and instead rush to start online so schools can show off how frum they are

  9. I agree with anon 5:41am children live for a purpose but they are children kids need different things to keep them going than adults. Frum kids school days are rigorous and demanding intellectually mentally and socially. Vomits ok for them to have fun and get a break once in a while!!!

  11. So Councilman Burstyn says that LSTA won't be providing bussing for Lakewood because of a "policy". Can anyone identify what this policy is, and if there is a policy, how is "LSTA studying the option of afternoon bussing". The policy is simply we don't care about anyone other than Lakewood. This LSTA needs to be cleaned up. They still owe parents the money for those that no route was found.
