  4. Which bochrim exactly are going to spend the last two weeks of Bain Hazmanim locked up in quarantine?

  5. Interesting. TLS page about the spike in cases is now gone. https://www.thelakewoodscoop.com/news/2020/08/breaking-lakewood-records-highest-number-of-new-covid-19-cases-in-over-two-months.html

    1. Mind you, TLS posted on it's twitter that the high numbers are a result of more testing and so did Schor. Noone knows, bit either way camps started already and any testing from those would have been reported last week. Not today.
When the powers at be are working hard to cover something up there must be a very strong reason. I understand let's not have fear. But lets at least be careful.
Are those 20 with positive results going in quarantine?

  6. I do not understand why we have a greater need to keep schools open five days at full capacity risking teachers' if about a quarter of the parents cannot legally work. Can someone explain. Every other district except Hoboken will be remote or half days. Why cannot those parents without green cards babysit the kids at home? Isit the district's intention to encourage these parents to work in violation of federal law?

    1. You answered your own question. The other three quarters parents are legal and can work, so school needs to stay open so they can work.

    2. Not to mention the fact that illegals work as well

  8. Its all about controlling the narrative. When Lakewood was first hit with corona there was a push to keep things shtill with articles denying that there are any positive cases and all is fine while in truth people in town were already deathly ill and infected patients walking around because the decision was not to test. Than the narrative changed in an effort to appease murphy they invented Aiva and shut down porch minyanim after the town was all infected already. Now that they want schools open it dosent fit the narrative that there's a spike. So the Baghdad Bobbing begins. (It could very well be a result of testing or a isolated case)

    1. Why do they want the public schools open? I cannot figure this out. It just does not make sense when all 613 districts except Lakewood and one other are opening at half capacity. So it cannot be about the kids. As for the parents, many cannot work because of their immigration status. So it cannot be about the parents. As for the mosdos, I do not see the connection. Mosdos are religious schools and the children are not wards of the state, and anyway, why should the mosdos have to do what the public schools do? There is no law.

I am a public school teacher and we have a right to know why some of us might die. Most of us are not from Lakewood and do not have so-called immunity.

I invite your comments. I am confused.

    2. I already responded above. Most parents are legal and need to work.
If you don't want to come in to work, you're free to get another job. You're also free to stay home and not work at all and not get paid (which is what you want the parents to do).

    3. Most are legal but no other town, except perhaps Union City, has a larger percent who are not.

You did not explain why Lakewood is an anomaly? All other district will only have half the students each day with a full faculty doing double the work to teach the other half online.

      When did we become babysitters?

    4. Here are the numbers as best as I can do:

187,933 persons of Mexican origin in NJ including children born in US. US Census by ancestry.

103,000 Mexicans undocumented. 55% Migration Policy Institute

66% of Hispanics in Lakewood Mexicans NJ DOL (from census 2010)

86% of Lakewood district Hispanic. Lakewood School Performance report. Lakewood third largest home to Mexicans in NJ. Safe to say that .86 x .66 x .55 = .31

Given that the numbers include young people that are born in the US it is safe to conclude over 31% are not permitted to work.

So again, why the anomaly, if all other district are opening with half capacity, why is the district with the largest parent population that will violate the law opening at full capacity so that those Americans who have invested their lives it must choose to either give up their insurance, tenure and seniority or possible give up their lives to aid and abet violation of federal law whereas in other district, the teachers do not face this choice. Keep on patting yourself on the back Lakewood citizens about your chesed and ha'karos hs'tov.

    5. If you are a teacher, and don't see the importance of children returning to school for their own well being, you are in the wrong profession.

And quite frankly, most people are sick of hearing teachers moaning about not wanting to go to work, when other than restaurant employees, the rest of the world has been back working for a while

  9. We are surrounded by stupid people. We are lead by stupid people. Our nation is being run by stupid people. It just get dumber every day, the latest, not drinking bleach, but postponing an election? What are we Zimbabwe? Thank goodness for checks and balances. The election of 1864 was held as scheduled. It looked as if McClellen would win whose platform called for making peace with the Confederacy risking, in Lincoln's view, the restoration of the Union. Has there ever been a greater crsis?

BTW Notice how the real estate developer reality TV star who had no government experience or even worked for anyone but himself gets so eaten up by Dr. Fauci's approval numbers. It is a repeat of his wife Ivana who did made the Trump hotel in AC so successful and had so many admirers that when she walked into a room, people flocked to her and not to her husband. He could not bear that. Too bad for the Donald that he cannot dump Fauci like her dumped Ivana.
