In a letter to the community Baltimore Rabbonim say that our guard has been let down when it comes to social distancing at chasunas. There are new cases of covid19 in the community, these cases have been traced to those who attended chasunas in NY and NJ where social distancing and masking were not followed.
Somebody is misleading these Baltimore rabbonim and this is not the first time. There are dozens of chasunas every night and nobody from ny/nj is getting sick. Only Baltimore people ? Hmm.
ReplyDeleteAs usual these kol kories are not really from rabbonim but rather from machers who are looking ro throw their weightr around, and get rabbonim to sign their edicts. We see this time and again.
Peleg/Anti-vax rabbonim - Daas Torah! Anyone other rabbonim - askanim moisrim vaad 150 dollars blah blah
DeleteWhen You think of Baltimore
ReplyDeleteYou think of Masks .
There is a current outbreak in Willow Woods bungalows, with 6 confirmed cases tied to an aufruff in Monsey, the wedding was in the palace last Tuesday and shabbos Sheva brochos was at the Raleigh.
ReplyDeleteIt is not surprising that it's only Baltimore that is more at risk, because most people in NY/NJ are already immune, so even if they are exposed there is no outbreak. Herd immunity may be the way to go.
For the record, Mayrland is on the quarantine list in NY/NJ so these people should not have been going to weddings. They need to follow the rules. Blaming the lack of social distancing in NY is irrelevant.
Herd immunity would preclude even those who do not have immunity from catching the virus. That is the definition of heard immunity
DeleteNot exactly, herd immunity means that there are so few people left to catch it that even when those few do catch it there aren't enough to spread it widely and cause a major outbreak. We'll see what happens in the NY/NJ area, if it doesn't continue to spread beyond those 50-100 people you can safely say we are at herd immunity.
DeleteThe out of town weddings in Lakewood are bringing in the virus
