This affects ALL Countries, without exception, and was obviously a plan devised by them years ago. - After 738 days or  2 years of daily tehilim in shuls, today the kapital of Mizmor Lesodah was said at several shuls as the hostages returned home.

- President Trump confirms he has been approached by several wealthy countries who will pitch in to rebuild Gaza

- The 13 additional hostages are in relatively good condition. All are walking on their feet and communicating with their surroundings.

Families have been instructed to arrive early at the Re’im base in southern Israel, where the hostages will undergo initial medical evaluations after their release.

-Saudi Al-Hadath: Syrian authorities may soon hand over the remains of Israeli spy Eli Cohen to Israel.

- US President Donald Trump is set to arrive in Israel on Monday morning and address the Knesset before departing four hours later. He  will also meet with the families of hostages,

Trump is expected to land in Israel at 9:20 a.m. and depart at 1:00 p.m. Upon arrival, a brief ceremony will be held at Ben Gurion Airport before Trump proceeds to the Knesset, where he is scheduled to speak to the plenum at 11:00 a.m.

-Sources in Hamas to the Saudi Al-Sharq channel: Hamas and the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip have completed all preparations for the release of hostages and prisoner exchange, in which 20 hostages and some bodies will be released in one batch. It was noted that preparations are being made to receive the Palestinian prisoners who will be released from the prisons.

- Hamas document handwritten by Yahya Al-Sinwar from August 2022, discovered in the Gaza Strip by the IDF, included precise instructions for the first hours of the Hams terrorists' raid into Israeli territory alongside orders to document the massacre of Israeli civilians and soldiers. The instructions were fully implemented in the terror attack on October 7, 2023.

- IDF Fighters at one of the positions in the strip: "The enemy is getting very close to our posts”. Currently, the rules of engagement are warning shots at civilians who try to approach the yellow line. The instructions are to avoid killing as much as possible until the hostages return, and then, according to the battalion commander and the brigade commander, we will begin to enforce control over the yellow line. Currently, there are posts where the yellow line is a kilometer away, yet the enemy returns to occupy houses 250 meters from the post.

Changing The Minhag When to Say Hoshanos

There are 2 minhagim when to do the hakafos around the Bimah when reciting Hoshanos. Minhag Eretz Yisrael is to do it after Hallel before krias hatorah which is the more convenient way since you don't have to take the Lulav and Esrog out again. The second Minhag is to do it after Mussaf where you have to take the lulav out again. There have been many halachic debates among the poskim regarding when to do it and there are many reasons both halachacily and al pi kabbalah when to do it.

Some Shuls who had the minhag to do it after mussaf wanted to switch the minhag to the first way as a matter of convenience.

-Witkoff congratulated Netanyahu: "The real hard work was that of the Prime Minister. He was the one who had to protect this country. He was the one who had to make tough decisions. I often think about it; it didn't give me peace—what would I do in such situations? Looking back, I think we wouldn't have reached this point if PM Netanyahu hadn't acted as he did. Thank you. These are not just words—even the president believes it. We are here today because Hams had no choice. They had to reach this agreement."

Jared kushner: "I really want to say that none of this would have been possible without the heroism of the IDF and the soldiers – what they accomplished not only in Gaza but also across the entire arena over the past two years: in eliminating Hezbollah in the North and significantly weakening it, and also in what you did in Iran. All of this created a huge impact.

Especially, when you see how your citizen army – I know that for many of you, maybe all of you, you have family members and friends who took part in this effort – sacrificed enormous losses for the country and fought to bring about change, I think it truly made a tremendous difference. - The main points of the agreement brought for the Israeli government approval: From the moment of approval, IDF forces will deploy to the yellow line within 24 hours. Within 72 hours of the troops deploying on the withdrawal line, 20 live hostages and 28 deceased hostages will be released, of whom four are not Israelis. Only after that will the terrorists be released from Israeli prisons.

-In Israel, preparations are underway for the release of the first hostages as early as Saturday, and a large international force has been established to recover bodies, if Hams announces that it does not know their whereabouts

- According to the hostage deal:

• 250 security prisoners will be released

• 1,700 residents of the Gaza Strip who were not involved in the events of October 7 and were arrested after the massacre will be released.

• 22 minors under the age of 18, residents of the Gaza Strip who were not involved in the events of October 7 and were arrested after the massacre, will be released.

• 360 bodies of terrorists will be returned.

Another important emphasis: A prisoner convicted of murder, manufacturing weapons used for murder, or direct involvement in organizing or sending an attacker who carried out a deadly attack, will be released only to the Gaza Strip or abroad, provided that an immediate ban on entry to Israel and the territories of Judea and Samaria will apply to him.

-  Hospitals in Israel are preparing for the most significant wave yet: the living hostages will undergo a series of comprehensive medical examinations and will be able to stay together in the hospitals

- New details: Extensive IDF preparations for receiving the living hostages and the bodies: IDF Chief of Staff Zamir approved today the plans for the operation to receive the living hostages and the bodies, and commanders in the field conducted an assembly in the reception compound in Re'im in the last 24 hours to ensure its readiness for all scenarios.

Reception of the living hostages: 

1. The living hostages will be transferred from Hams to the Red Cross, and from there to a special IDF unit waiting for them in the Gaza Strip area - at a point to be determined with the Red Cross personnel. It is not certain that these are the same reception points as in the previous release deal.

2. If any hostage is in a complex medical condition, he will not continue by vehicle to Israeli territory; a helicopter on standby inside the Gaza Strip will evacuate him to Soroka Hospital.

3. If a hostage is in a medical condition that allows it, he will continue by vehicle to the reception compound in Re'im, where his immediate family will be waiting, and from there by helicopter to one of three hospitals - Ichilov, Sheba, or Beilinson.

4. The IDF is also preparing for the possibility of releasing all 20 living hostages together; therefore, the Re'im compound has 24 rooms ready and equipped for a broad simultaneous reception.

5. The professional teams accompanying the families recommended that, in the case of living hostages who are fathers of young children, their children should not wait for them in the Re'im compound, but in the hospitals. This is to allow both the children themselves and the returning hostages to process the reception process in the country. However, each family will choose for itself how it wishes to act and where each family member will wait for the returning hostage.

6. According to the agreement, there will be no humiliating release ceremonies by Hams for the returning hostages

7. In the reception compounds, crutches and wheelchairs will be waiting for the hostages in case they have difficulty walking. The IDF still does not know in what condition each hostage will return and is prepared for surprises. Additionally, new clothes in various sizes are being prepared for them (because it is unknown in what condition they will return), as well as additional equipment for initial reception

Roshei Yeshiva in the U.S. Issue Strong Letter to American Bochurim in Eretz Yisroel

Leading Roshei Yeshiva in the United States have issued a strong letter directed at American bochurim currently learning in Eretz Yisroel, urging them not to attend the Chol Hamoed concert sponsored by the Eretz Hakodesh slate of the World Zionist Organization (WZO).

The letter refers to the event as a grave chillul Hashem and expresses strong condemnation, echoing the position of the Gedolei Eretz Yisroel, who have already called on the public to avoid any association or participation in venues connected with these resha'im.

Harav Aharon Feldman, shlit”a, Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Yisroel in Baltimore, previously stated that Eretz Hakodesh has no authority to represent yeshiva bochurim in any capacity.

- Complication in the hostage deal negotiation? Turkey updated: We have contacted two additional groups holding hostages; all have different demands for the release of hostages.

inte a "Shiar" on the laws of Eruv for about one hour. He would not allow us to 

interrupt him and divert him from his dissertation. He was anxious to prove in 

every way the fact that there was a wks prohibition on the Huv, in fact a 

"safek d'oraita." Upon questioning, he admitted that he barely glimpsed at all pny 

the literature printed in "Noam" and the other writings of Rabbi Kakher, As a 

matter of fact, his conclusions were almost exclusively based upon a reading of the

- Jackson: A stabbing occurred last night, Oct. 4, at a Wawa convenience store on North Hope Chapel Road in Jackson, NJ. The victim, initially reported to be a teenager, is in stable condition. Jackson police have arrested a suspect, though their identity has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.

          Erev Sukkos Vs Erev Pesach?

There's a famous saying if Men had to clean for Pesach and ladies  had to build a sukkah they woukd both start on Erev Pesach.

Talk about Erev Pesach the pressure of getting ready for the Seder, making sure there is no chometz, turning over the kitchen, cooking the zeroa, making charoses etc. Men usually have easy chores when it comes to Erev Pesach its the Nashim tzidkaniyos that are the ones knocked out when we sit by the seder.

Its on Erev Sukkos when rolls are reversed that the men get to feel a bit what it is for the women on Erev Pesach. Talk about the stress of getting the sukkah up, making sure its sturdy, adding 2 new panels, last minute runs to the

local hardware store- a screw and bolt here, a light fixture, oops need to run back for an adapter since its 3 prongs, Setting the shabbos clock, putting up the decorations. Then its back to the store for another 6x4 mat for the schach and a fold-able cot for the son in law who sleeps in the sukkah.

Then comes the Daled minim, checking the esrog one more time, placing it in the polished Esrog holder (Ladies job ) running out to get Aravos, a chinuch set, and of course putting it all together keeping it moist and ready to use. Oh, forgot the Lulav rings.. How do you make them?

 Finally on the way to shul a voice yells.. you forget to open the shlock!!

General Elections 2025 Updates

 Election Campaign Heats Up in Lakewood

The election campaign is in full swing, with candidate Jack Ciattarelli urging Lakewood area residents to get out and vote. Extensive coverage in the Lakewood Shopper has portrayed Ciattarelli as the only viable candidate who will prioritize the needs of the frum community, particularly highlighting his support for tuition vouchers and tax credits.

Ciattarelli stated that Democratic candidate Mollie Sherrill would not opt New Jersey into the federal tuition relief program, a move he claims would harm families relying on financial assistance for yeshiva education.

During a recent visit to Lakewood, Ciattarelli met with the Skulener Rebbe, who gave him his blessing. The two reportedly discussed the Rebbe’s ongoing efforts to uphold moral values and his concerns about government involvement in education, referencing issues currently unfolding in New York.

Meanwhile, Assemblyman Avi Schnall is seeking re-election. His campaign ads tout several state funding wins for Lakewood, including $8 million in annual state aid to the township. However, despite this increased aid, property taxes in Lakewood have gone up by 11%, a hike that will take effect immediately after the election directly impacting local residents' tax bills.

Notably absent from Schnall’s campaign messaging is any mention of tuition relief, an issue that was the centerpiece of his campaign two years ago.

Former Assemblyman Ned Thomson (R-Wall), is seeking to regain the seat he held until his upset defeat in 2023.

- Lakewood committeeman  Issac Akerman is seeking reelection to the Township Committee.

- Board of Education member Moshe Raitzik has announced his candidacy for a seat on the Lakewood Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners.

- According to reports the hostages could be freed on Simchas Torah October 12. As the 72 hours will begin on Thursday following  negotiations on Egypt.

1. The Israeli delegation will leave tomorrow for Egypt 

2. The negotiation is expected to take no more than three days. 

3. Dermer, Kushner, and Witkoff will arrive on Wednesday/Thursday to hopefully finalize the deal. 

4. Then, if an agreement is signed, the countdown of the 72 hours for the return of the hostages will come into effect

Additionally, it has been decided that Minister Ron Dermer will indeed join the delegation leaving tomorrow for Sharm El-Sheikh—an indication of the seriousness of the negotiations (this is the first time Dermer is joining talks abroad and not supervising them from Israel).

- Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed the cafeteria and damaged the auditorium of a former Catholic school building that until recently served as Piner Elementary School for the Lakewood Board of Education, officials said. Lakewood Fire Department, said the building was occupied by a private group at the time, but everyone inside was safely evacuated before the fire spread. Classes were not in session when the alarm was struck.
