Lakewood Delegation Discuss Parental Alienation with Gedolim

Lakewood Delegation Discuss rampant Child Alienation with Gedolei Eretz Yisrael

Translated from Kikar Hebrew
A horrifying phenomenon is rampant in the USA: "Therapists convince couples - to sever contact with parents"
Last week, a delegation from Lakewood traveled to the homes of gedolei yisrael in Eretz yisrael, to discuss and consult on the burning issue in the USA - the phenomenon of 'parental alienation', an issue that unfortunately has recently invaded  eretz iIsrael as well, by irresponsible and evil caregivers.

This is not a new phenomenon, but a phenomenon that has existed for the past decades, so-called professional therapists, receive ultra-Orthodox couples and advise them to tear families apart, that is, to cut and sever ties with parents, which causes families to collapse.

Last week, as mentioned, a delegation led by Rabbi Nechemiah Grama, a well-known and respected lecturer, educator and consultant arrived from Lakewood, and it brought the difficult phenomenon experienced by many in the United States and even in Israel.

The members of the delegation claimed that the young children, teenagers and even married couples who need emotional and psychological counseling, receive treatment from therapists who do not act according to the rules of the Torah and Halacha. The therapists incite the patients against the parents and make them sever the relationship with the parents who supposedly are to blame for the children's condition, and in many homes of Yereim  Ushleimim they have reached a state of 'parental alienation'.
Meeting with Rav Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi shlita last week

The members of the delegation also said that children, young adults and married people just leave their parents' houses and walk out the door.

They visited: Rav Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi shlita Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein shlita , Rav Moshe Tzadka shlita  and more, and had the privilege of hearing from them clear instructions for the educators who are dealing with this important and painful issue .

Rav Yitzchak Zilberstein told them "Kibud Av

-Shidduchim:  LNN reports Three new guidelines have emerged regarding the challenges of shidduchim from the meeting between a delegation of Roshei Yeshiva  in Eretz Yisroel
1) Bachurim should not go to EY later than Pesach of their 3rd year in beis medrash.
2) Girls should not start dating at all until at least half a year after they return from seminary.
3) If either of these conditions are not kept the other side is void also.
So for example, if the boys are still leaving later, the girls would not be bound to wait. The idea of this is to cut off  a half year from the boys side and half year from the girls side to close the age gap between them. Read more

Nemours Children's Hospital in Dupont Drops NJ family Care Patients

First it was CHOP, now Nemours childrens hospital in Dupont, Delaware will no longer accept patients who have Insurance covered by NJ family care begning August 1, 2023.

This means Lakewood  area children who are covered with NJ Family care, either with Amerigroup, Horizon, Wellcare will have to find another children's hospital to go to for procedures. Local doctors are planning to work with Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Cener in North Jersey or other  networks. In case of  a serious emergency  patients may still go to Philadelphia to CHOP.

This may be a negotiation attempt at getting more money from the state, but for now they are dropping Jersey care patients.

Official statement:

Effective August 1, 2023, Nemours Children’s will not be working with any New Jersey Medicaid health plan. This means that we will not be able to see patients who have insurance with Horizon NJ Health, WellCare NJ FamilyCare or Amerigroup Community Care.

If your child has an emergency, they can still come to the emergency room at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware. As always, in an emergency you should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Here are some common questions and answers.

Do You Need 2 Bottles of Ketchup for Milchig & Fleishig

ketchup is in the news as to the great debate where it should be stored in the fridge or pantry  a recent tweet from Heinz ketchup said “FYI,” “Ketchup. Goes. In. The. Fridge!!!”.
The tweet has over 5.4 million views.

As kosher consumers the question is do u need two seperate bottles of condiments for fleishig and Milchig. Can you use the same bottles of ketchup and mustard for both meat and dairy meals?  OU Executive Rabbinic Coordinator, Rabbi Elefant, provides the answer to this often asked question in the video below.

From OU kosher:
Is one required to have two sets of saltshakers, one for dairy and one for meat?
The Rema (YD 88:2) writes that there is a minhag is to have separate bowls of salt for milchigs and fleishigs. This is because when one dips food into the salt, crumbs might remain behind. This concern seemingly does not apply to a saltshaker. The salt is well protected inside the shaker, and it is extremely unlikely that any crumbs will fall through the tiny holes. Nevertheless, there is a widespread minhag to have separate saltshakers. Sefer Badei Hashulchan (88:30) points out that if there are young children who might touch the saltshaker

Lakewood Residents Sticker Shock With Property Tax Increase

Lakewood residents were shocked as the new tax bills and assessments arrived in the mail. Some residents will see more than 10% tax increase for this coming year after the township and BOE have all increased their budgets and raised property taxes.  The committee members also voted to increase their salaries at the beginning of the year after raising it last year in 2022. Hard hit, are seniors who are living on fixed income from social security. NJ just passed a law that will offer New Jersey homeowners 65 and over tax credits worth up to half of their property tax bills, to a cap of $6,500, as long as they make no more than $500,000 a year.

The hot real estate market has caused home values to increase yet residents are not selling or at a position to move away.

The mayor who is up for reelection this year was asked about this in a recent township meeting  where all the money going from the new construction and homes was built. why is the township giving away tax abatements that won't benefit  the taxpayers until 30 years from now? The mayor said that due to the growth they had to expand the police force and other municipal services. Mayor Ray Coles was asked about the tax abatements and he responded that in 30 years our grandchildren will benefit when the full taxes kick in. Several residents sent comments asking the committee to cut their salaries which are way higher than neighboring towns and why should the deputy mayor get a salary double than the other committeeman.

The Mayors salary increased from $80,00 to $88,000 it was $71,000 in 2021 and in  2018 the it was $34,00. Members of Township Committee salary will increased from $65,500.00 to

A Mefoar Atorah see below that contains a mixture of linen in its inner cords, which is obviously a concern of shatnez when attached to a טלית which is of wool. In addition to the prohibition of shatnez, wearing a טלית that contains שעטנז on שבת, may be a question of הוצאה on שבת as shown below from the פרי מגדים in סימן י"ג, and may be a question of  making a ברכה לבטלה.

It's painful to see so many girls waiting for years to find their bathers but the approach of days Torah to strengthen one's bitachon and increase zechusim is a better avenue.
