Anti vaxxers attend lecture on vaccines by R' Akiva Tatz
The Peach movement made a showing at Rabbi Akiva Tatz lecture held in Chemed this Motzei Shabbos. Rabbbi Tatz spoke about the importance of vaccinating in today's day, how it has become the norm and since it is accepted by most of the population than that is the right thing to do with the concept of Shomer Pesayim hashem. A group of the anti vaxxers movement (which is a new trend in Lakewood growing like a weed) were on hand to spread their shittos and to try to refute what is accepted as basic medical research. R' Tatz told them unless they have proof to their claims such as autism is a result of vaccines they have no basis to their arguments. A noted Pediatrician from Brooklyn recently spoke about the dangers this new movement in Lakewood is posing to the health of children. read here http://hefkervelt.blogspot.com/2015/02/prominent-brooklyn-pediatrician.html

Glatt Gourmet or Gourmet Glatt
Is it Gourmet Glatt or Glatt Gourmet? locals are used to saying Glatt Gourmet as in the take out store down route Nine South. The store that offers delicious, home style food you crave. Gourmet Glatt a supermarket from NY plans on opening in the former shop rite plaza. This store is known for its top of the line selections in all departments and for great value and customer service. What was simple till now has people a bit confused but like all new things they will get used to this too. The main thing is that everything be Glatt and of course Gourmet.

New stores not filling SR void
3 major supermarkets plan on opening branches in Lakewood. Evergreen, Gourmet Glalt and Seasons. While many are looking forward for a new and different shopping experience, the void that Shop rite left has not been filled locally. No one has Soda as cheap as shop rite did. Its hard to find a watermelon for 3.99 or sales on fruits and other shop rite brand items. For Diapers, laundry detergent, soaps, and many other non food items the prices do not compare. Many plan weekly trips up Rt 9 for these specific items. Hopefully the competition will bring down the prices on these items too.

Aisle 9 opens, 3 large stores coming as well
Aisle 9 a new grocery kosher market at Madison and tenth street, was open today. It appears to be a soft opening as no formal announcement was made regarding a grand opening.
Three large kosher supermarkets are coming to Lakewood as well. Gourmet Glatt from Brooklyn will be opening at the former shop rite location sometime after August. Evergreen kosher from Monsey will be opening a branch at the former Chateau grand location. Seasons kosher market is also opening in the Cedarbridge area.
