- Letter from Rabbi Bender to parents in Darchei Torah on the dangers of Electric bikes.
"I am at my wits’ end that there are still parents who allow their children to bring electric bikes and scooters to the Yeshiva. Last week, two e-bikers were killed when they collided on the Queensboro Bridge, R”L. Jewish children on scooters have been killed in other communities. Other children have been maimed. This is pure negligence on the part of the parents I believe in making children happy but allowing a child to ride an electric bike or scooter is akin to giving a gun to a child..... I understand that every single child asks for these toys, but parents who give in are ignoring the (chas v’shalom) consequences"

ReplyDeleteThe tenacity of that guy is something else
DeleteWhy exactly are they closing down? Were they put out of business? Hasgas Gevul issue? Or more money / less headache to be made renting out the space?
ReplyDeleteI proudly voted for the Vaad/ Daas Torah candidate. I will not be swayed by rabble rousers.
ReplyDeleteSo when the 'rabble rousers' make stationery for themselves, you will follow them?
DeleteWilling to bet 12:03 troll didn't vote at all
DeleteShame on us that we didn't go out of our way to vote the incumbents out. How can we effect change in this town if we don't vote?!? The fact that the woman won, and there are so few votes altogether, shows that mostly the seniors in this town voted...
ReplyDeleteThere are always fewer voters in Primaries. However, we can't vote in new people if the candidates don't campaign! The voters were quiet on election day because the candidates were quiet during the campaign season. I had to do research to find out who was running and what they stood for. HV was the only place where I could find any information about the candidates who were running. If they really wanted the positions, why didn't they make themselves heard in ads, articles etc? I get the impression that they were only running to do someone a favor and they didn't make any effort to get their names and positions out there. When are we, the "rabble rousers", going to get some real candidates who really want to make changes in this town and have the knowhow to get themselves elected??
DeleteThere were articles in Lakewood Shopper but maybe not enough. Some of the weekly magazines are part of the corruption in this town, and won't present articles and ads on the competition...
DeleteNeed someone
DeleteWilling to fight, fight, fight.
Willing to ignore subtle flattery from the biggest.
Willing to somehow avoid being co-opted
Willing to ignore being told on high levels he is a rasha.Or too innocent tzaddik for the job.
Willing to ignore the gripes of much of the desperate masses who won't ever really appreciate what he's killing himself accomplishing against all odds -on their behalf, until after he's gone. Who won't really go out and get others to go vote for him, all the while he's being steadily destroyed by the powers, the media, and eventually pushed out of office.
Who is Daas Torah>?
ReplyDeleteBaalei Batim Milking our community dry???
I live in the James Street area. The neighbors will be opposing and fighting this new Belz campus
ReplyDeletefight all you want and you will lose
DeleteBelz has an entire area in Lakewood Why are they opening a campus in a residential yeshiva area 5 miles away
ReplyDeleteWho would approve Belz making a whole campus on James street??? There's enough traffic there already. Their kehikla doesn't live near James street they're all going to need to be bussed 5 miles. Where's the common sense here???
ReplyDeleteBelz could only get funding for buses if they live more than 2 miles away, if they open. Schools close to home they won't be eligible for transportation ..
DeleteFarshteist yetzt???
Any updates on tonight's paving/road closures?
ReplyDeleteIch farshtei, but why in a residential area? Boys and girls campus means busses coming and going all day long. They have their own busses and drivers like most chassidishe mosdos in Lakewood and for sure in Brooklyn. Do you think they're going to get a tzniusdik female or even male from Jays??? Think again.
ReplyDeleteYou're not farshtaying..
DeleteThey get Aid in lieu for all the students with a few pick ups and one big drop off with their OWN buses
Why would a Chassudic Rebbe pick himself up in the middle of sitting Shiva for his mother to go to Chassunah???
ReplyDeleteIt's a grandchilds chasine he is just going to chuppa
DeleteThere is absolutely no heter for that in middle of shiva
DeleteYou are absolutely wrong look in halacha specifically in igros moshe yora deiya chelek bais siman קסט like Rebbitzen Lishinsky 2 month also attended a grandchild wedding in middle of shiva for her husband
DeleteOne is required to check polyester suits for Shatnez with a professional checking?
ReplyDeleteWhere in the world does this come from?
Miut hamatzuy is a sugya and just because it happened 00.3 percent of the time Halacha says it doesn’t matter til (lefi Rav Elyashiv ) it’s 6%
If a 6% occurrence of suits labeled 100% polyester behaving shatnez exists then I’ll stop voting for Aaron and Harold. This is thievery from the tzibur. Geneivas daas? Onaas devorim?
Just stop making up halachos that contradict
Soon people will be saying that if it’s more than 60 we should still not eat the cholent with the 1% milk spill. One who says that is a heretic as even a cursory google search for those who didn’t know that will find.
Call rabbi Sayagh and ask him. He relies on big poskim just like you do. Have the convo and make a decision.
