- Rav Chaim Peretz Berman Ponovezh R"Y arrives in Lakewood on behalf of Keren Olam haTorah with a visit at the home of Rav Malkiel Kotler shlita see photo below.

- A drunk illegal immigrant Raul Luna-Perez of Red Bank pleaded guilty in connection with a 2024 Lakewood crash that killed a mother and daughter on Cross street Prosecutors said he was speeding, intoxicated, and had cocaine in his system when he crossed into oncoming traffic and caused the deadly collision. He faces two consecutive 10-year prison terms after pleading guilty to aggravated manslaughter. He had 3 prior arrests for DWI. The whitehouse used this incident in opposing sanctuary cities 

- Heads of the Haredi Hesder Yeshivos in a letter to the Prime Minister and Defense Minister: Call to enact a temporary order and freeze the arrests of yeshiva bochurim for one year, parallel to a process that will include expanding the scope of Charedi enlistment and broadening service track. This is not supported by any mainstream Roshei yeshiva 

- IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir stresses that men and women will not serve in the same tanks during training or operational activity, after the leaders of more than two dozen yeshivas threatened to stop sending their students to serve in tank units because of a pilot program integrating women into the Armored Corps.

- Amit Segal calls the protesting faction extreme and fanatical but says Police enforcement cannot be carried out on the basis of revulsion. Police violence directed at one offender and not at another offender is discriminatory and invalid enforcement. We all know what would have happened here if such violence had been directed at the Kapalnists.The absence of media coverage of this gap is no less disgusting than the gap between the praise that Ben Gvir, for example, gave to the thrower of the stun grenade on the Ayalon and the shock this morning at the throwing of stun grenades.

-A protest in Bnei Brak by followers of Rabbi Tzvi Friedman known as Ratzafim, against the draft law and arrests of yeshiva students turned violent Wednesday morning, with footage showing injured demonstrators, stun grenades, and baton strikes. Protest organizers said the demonstration was held earlier in the day to avoid conflicting with a separate protest planned by the Ger Chassidus. The police response sparked sharp condemnation from Chareidi politicians, including Meir Porush, Aryeh Deri, and Yisroel Eichler, who accused police of excessive force and demanded investigations. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded by announcing an urgent review of police use of stun grenades. Meanwhile, politicians from Degel HaTorah had not publicly commented as of Wednesday afternoon.

- Mount Holly has canceled its Fourth of July celebration, citing safety concerns after recent incidents of violence at public events across New Jersey, according to township officials.

- A 53-year-old Lakewood woman was arrested following an investigation into more than $1,000 in unauthorized charges on a resident's bank account. Police say the suspect had previously worked for a local transportation service used by the victim and now faces charges including fraudulent use of a credit card and theft by deception.

- Ocean County Man Charged After Allegedly Striking ICE Agent A man living illegally in Ocean County was arrested after allegedly hitting an ICE agent with his van during a vehicle stop in Manahawkin. He faces a federal charge of assaulting a federal officer, which carries up to 20 years in prison.

- A Jackson woman has admitted to shooting a 79-year-old man during an incident at a residence on Jackson Pines Road last year and now faces a potential seven-year state prison sentence.

- Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer, a key figure in South Jersey Democratic politics, was appointed to a $201,889-a-year position leading the South Jersey Port Corporation. Critics say the move could significantly boost his state pension and potentially qualify him for lifetime public health benefits, highlighting concerns about politically connected officials receiving lucrative public jobs late in their careers.
