The Board of Education plan to downsize board count makes no sense. There will be three candidates on the ballot this November anyway. Even if the new numbers are approved by the voters, it should start in 2028, not 2027! Who determines which 2 don't get seated if it's already this coming January!

ReplyDeleteBriskers saying tehilim? Going to Meiron? News to me . .
ReplyDeleteYou don't know your history.
DeleteBriskers are into Meron, always have been. The Brisker Rav said Tehillim for hours as part of his daily schedule.
DeleteSure do
DeleteWe can safely assume that it didn't break 500 cars
ReplyDeleteSuvalker Rav was a Rebbe in the treif YU!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for your brilliant comment on Rav Shimon Shkop's yartzeit!
DeleteSo was Reb Aron Kreiser, Reb Yeruchem Gorelick plus alotbof other alter Mirrers
DeleteWeak retort. Different era.
DeleteIirc several others were also offered positions [have 3 off the cuff ]
Yet they turned it down
Nebach.
DeleteThere are still people who view things with this tiny lens. There's a 'treif' YU and a 'holy' BMG. So by association, we are all tzadikim, because we get to be connected to BMG. And 'that guy' is not so hot, because he was connected to YU.
No need for any avodas Hashem, Torah learning, Midos Tovos, or ahavas Hashem. Just associate with the right group.
It's not just about how they view ehrliche Yidden like the Suvalker Rav, Reb Aaron Kreiser, or Reb Shimon Shkop. It's how they view their own avodas Hashem. It's all about the group identity and little to do with avodas Hashem.
Sad.
Shame on you!

ReplyDeleteThe parks might have shiny new playgrounds (plastic), but no picnic tables or benches.
Did the arikim and their RYs pay any Shiva calls or bikur cholim calls?
Only calls for yeshiva money. Which the government will be happy to give them, if ...
The "very large hospital" parking lot includes a very large simcha hall.
I'm sure the current halls, and the yeshiva owners who own them are complaining.
US Supreme Court ruled this morning t that RFRA law that was used to overturn zoning and other ordinances that discriminate against shuls and mikvaot and eruvin and just plain orthodox yidden moving and cannot be used get millions of dollars from objectionable towns.
ReplyDeleteMaking such lawsuits not so advisable even though those towns violated the law.
Probably would not apply in NYS, which has its own such law.
But NJ doesn't have such a law, and I highly doubt Governor Sherrill will push for it, over objections of most towns in NJ.
Maybe we can find a heter for Assemblyman S to vote on Shabbat.
we must make clear that under no circumsrances will we serve the treif IDF
