the letter was written to the Kehillos of Liberty Village and Bumker Hill, Toms River,
"There is reason to believe that one who cares about their and their children’s יראת שמים, would or should not want to patronize an establishment that at certain times has an environment that adds to the degrading of accepted boundaries. By patronizing them at any time they are open, we are allowing this behavior at our doorstep. We appreciate efforts they are making, however as long as they have seating past family mealtimes and/or don’t control loitering in and out of their store, we strongly recommend not patronizing this store. [We are not telling them how to run their business, but we are telling you – our Kehilla – what we feel about patronizing it.] If you feel there has been significant improvement in this situation, please bring it to our attention.

They don't just chill, they get rowdy, violent, aggressive and act disgusting. We want our establishment to be a safe environment for everyone to eat in. If they're coming to eat and chill we are very good with that. But to stir things up, go outside and make a mess, drive crazy in the parking lot, screaming and blasting music, this we will not accept on our property. We want all to have a great experience and not have a parent worry if its safe for my kid to be there."

  1. Why not be in touch with the business and ask them to make changes (that they already did) and see if they’ll comply? I agree with the Rabbonim Shlita I don’t want to go to a place that’s known to be a hangout for kids at risk etc.

  2. Not a Chabadnik but I can't help in seeing the irony in the Smash House art being too tznius to have illustrations of girls (which the Rebbe zt"l was makpid on including in art aimed at children), but being fine with non-kosher animals stuffing themselves.

    1. What is the comparison? I sure hope you have no Yetzer Horah for non-kosher animals and seeing an elephant eating has no possible negative affect on you...

  3. I'm wondering why other serious issues affecting children haven’t been publicly addressed, while attention seems focused on one establishment like lax in shmiras Shabbps and issues such as drugs and weed. Why is only this restaurant being targeted when others stay open just as late?

    4. The Rabbanim wrote this letter to a specific neighborhood about the issues that are relevant to them with actual issues that have come up. No one is denying there are other issues that exist.

  5. Anyone else seeing this?

Our street was finally paved after months of construction, and within days they came back, cut it open, and left patches and markings.
What’s more concerning is that nobody seems to even know what the original work was for. There’s a real lack of transparency here.
If this isn’t addressed properly, it’s just going to keep happening.

  6. A plane lands on a truck delivering bakery to a burger joint that OTD kids hang out in.
    Big deal!
But it might make the Governor visit Lakewood to join the hangout.
Of course, she'll be stuck getting around the new light at Central and Nine.
In celebration of the Governor, no tachanun Tuesday morning. Tell her to see the medurah tomorrow night also, and give the Rebbe a good kvitel.
