- Monday, May 4th, marks 30 days since we began reciting V’sein Beracha instead of Vesein Tal Umatar. After this point one is halachically considered to have accustomed to saying Vesein Berachah. - A levaya was held today in Eretz Yisrael for Rav Chaim Abadi ZTL at Eretz Hachaim Cemetery in Beit Shemesh. Hespedim were delivered by talmidim and friends, and many Lakewood talmidim  flew and traveled in for the levaya. He was buried  next to his father Rabbi Yitzchok Abadi ztl who was niftar  5 months ago. Watch the replay of Levaya in EY. HERE

United Airlines statement:

- United Airlines  Upon its final approach into Newark International Airport, United flight 169 came into contact with a light pole. The aircraft landed safely, taxied to the gate normally and no passengers or crew were injured. Our maintenance team is evaluating damage to the aircraft. We will conduct a rigorous flight safety investigation into the incident and our crew has been removed from service as part of the process.

- Lakewood Police are investigating an explosion in a portable toilet at a construction site as an act of criminal mischief. The explosion, reported about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2, happened at the site near Clinton Avenue and Holden Square. Lakewood police, using an explosive detection dog, and the New Jersey State Police Bomb Unit swept the area, finding no secondary device.( APP)

- Lakewood Police tried to stop a vehicle on Cedarbridge Avenue on May 1 around 10:55 PM. The driver fled, but the pursuit was quickly ended for safety. The vehicle stopped nearby and two occupants ran into the woods. Police caught the driver, Evan Cruz (41), who showed signs of DUI, and found open alcohol in the car.
