Iran Israel Updates Thurs May 7

- Announcement in Mirom for crowds to evacuate from kever Rashbi due to fear of Hezbollah rockets  

- US President Donald Trump halted the naval operation to guide trapped ships through the blockaded Strait of Hormuz after Saudi Arabia told Washington it wouldn’t let American aircraft involved in the effort use the kingdom’s airspace, NBC News reported Thursday. Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states were surprised by Trump’s announcement of Project Freedom on Sunday,

- Iran on Thursday is expected to give mediators its reply to a US proposal for ending the war. CNN

- Due to the possibility that Hezbollah will fire rockets at Israel in response to the killing of the commander of the terror group’s elite Radwan Force, the IDF says it is canceling several civilian events on the northern border that had been exempt from the Home Front Command’s wartime guidelines. The current guidelines in the Lebanon border communities limit gatherings indoors to 600 and outdoors to 200.

- IDF says it destroyed 30-meter Hezbollah tunnel in southern Lebanon

- Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian says he met recently with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, state media reports, offering a first public account of him meeting Khamenei after the latter suffered severe wounds at the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran.

- Trump: The war will be over quickly, Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon
“When you look at the kind of things that are happening, we are doing that for one very important reason: We cannot allow them to have a nuclear weapon. So I think most people understand that. -WSJ: President Trump’s advisers are worried that the GOP will pay a political price for high fuel costs. Many of those advisers are eager to end the war, hoping prices will begin to fall before the midterm elections.
