A heat advisory has ben issued for Camden, Gloucester, Mercer and northwestern Burlington counties runs from noon Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

- Organizers of the upcoming Lake Front chasidishe community in Okochobee Florida released  a list if the first 100 or so families that will be moving in after the summer season. Including 40 from Brooklyn 40 from Monsey and 4 from Lakewood. Others from Monroe Baltimore and other cities.

 -JSOR has issued an update regarding local establishments. Soya, Bubbi’s Cafe, and LBK remain under valid JSOR kosher certification. However, The Wave Bar is not under any hashgacha and is not certified kosher; non-kosher food and beverages are served there. Please share this information to help inform the community

- New Jersey officials have launched the annual “Click It or Ticket” campaign running May 18–31, with increased police patrols and public awareness efforts aimed at boosting seat belt use ahead of the busy summer travel season.

- Update Two suspects (ages 17 and 19) opened fire at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the largest mosque in the area
-Three adult victims killed inside the mosque
-Both suspects later found dead in a vehicle a couple blocks away
 Three adult male victims have been KlLLED in a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, per the FBI

- BDE: Petirah of Reb Mutti Feldbrand z”l, of Toms River who was suddenly niftar this Monday morning after collapsing at home. He was 47 years old. Last night he was zoche to celebrate the vort of his daughter. He previously lived in the villas neighborhood in Lakewood He is survived by his wife and children, The levaya is tentatively set to take at 9 PM Monday night at the Lakewood Chapel off 7th st.


- The smell of smoke outside is from controlled burns at joint Base MDL in Jackson and BUrlington county side 

- The Lakewood Township Police Department advises residents that beginning May 18, contractors for New Jersey American Water and CDM Smith will conduct door-to-door water service line assessments in parts of Lakewood over the coming weeks. Inspectors working in Census Tract 7154.01 should carry proper identification.

- Jackson Township police are investigating a homicide involving a grandson and his grandmother after officers responded to the Jackson Green Apartment Complex on West County Line Road (Justin Way area) early Sunday morning. The situation was quickly contained and there is no danger to the public as the investigation continues

- Giyus: A major policy change under which any yeshiva bochur encountered by police will now be detained and transferred to military police. The move marks a sharp shift from the previous policy, under which police largely avoided dealing with so called  Chareidi draft deserters.

- Lakewood planning board meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled.

- There have still been no updates from Lakewood officials regarding the ongoing daily and nightly traffic issues that are seriously affecting residents’ quality of life. The mayor and township committee have not publicly addressed the situation, while residents continue to raise concerns on social media about the unbearable impact that traffic congestion and road closures are having on the community.

- Registration for ben hazmanim camps for mesivta-age boys is now in full swing, as traveling camps have become increasingly popular, with trips to destinations such as Utah, Arizona, Kentucky, Alaska, and other locations. This year’s schedule is shorter than three weeks, as programs continue to adjust their itineraries and offerings

- The New Jersey Assembly will vote Monday on the “Patient and Provider Protection Act,” aimed at limiting pharmacy benefit managers to lower drug costs and expand patient choice. Supporters say it will help consumers and local pharmacies, while critics warn it could raise costs for insurers, patients, and taxpayers. The bill has passed key Assembly committees but has not yet been heard in the Senate.

-  New Yorkers should prepare for travel disruption Monday, the city’s officials have warned, as service on the vital Long Island Rail Road remains suspended because of a historic strike.

  2. I am not understanding the complaints about evening construction, would people rather they are done in the daytime? These are major infrastructure improvements, and we need to bare it for the short term for the long term fix.

  3. The most insane issue, is that when Hurley Ave is used as a detour, there needs to be an officer directing traffic at Hurley and Cedarbridge avenues, as only 5 cars can make the left turn for each traffic light.

  5. People are complaining about the poor planning of the construction. You can't close multiple roads in the same area.how are people supposed to get anywhere?

  6. The sick part is that the mayor responds to stupid softball questions on the scoop about a moving divider on rt 9 and they don't ask real questions or criticism
