Post Storm updates Tuesday Feb 24

Weather 32° Sunshine and a few clouds. 

- Lakewood area received a total of 25.2 inches according to the NWS.
Jackson - 25.2 inches
Lakewood - 24 inches
Toms River - 22 inches
Brick - 18.5 inches
Manchester Twp - 18 inches

- No purim joke 80% chance of snow next week 

- Expect heavy traffic around schools as they will be open with no LSTA transportation forcing parents to carpool. Schools will have a shorter day schedule  with late  drop-off and early dissmisal parents will be spending some time on the road with gridlock traffic 
Common courtesy letting drivers in with a zipper system can help ease traffic see video below.

- Local school districts are closed today

- A coastal storm is expected to bring snow, ice and rain to the Jersey Shore starting Thursday evening through Friday morning.
Predicted accumulations
Jackson: 0.25 to 0.5 inches of ice
Lakewood: 0.25 to 0.5 inches of ice
Manchester: 0.25 to 0.5 inches of ice
Toms River: 0.25 to 0.5 inches of ice

- A quick moving system will bring snow to the area early Wednesday morning, primarily for areas near/north of the I-78 corridor. While accumulations will be on the lower side (generally 1-3", less south of I-78), the timing may lead to slick conditions during the morning commute.

- Some South Jersey residents serviced by Atlantic City Electric could be without power until Saturday

  2. The zipper merge system needs menshlechkeit, something which many Lakewood drivers don't have.
