Typically Pooper Scooper to try doing a hit job on an organization that is stupid enough to support him. I guess he was threatened and took down the story.
DeleteHatzala has been having a hard time fundraise the last few years. Maybe the 100 Rabbanim that signed in their favor can do something about their finances too. The reality is that most of Lakewood and surrounding towns are upset about the politics. Criticizing the politics doesn't mean we don't appreciate what they do, but we want it done without egos and for the true good of the communities it serves.
DeleteEveryone knows someone who was rejected for a silly reason or a family that had a poor experience on a call. When the members don't look like the families they respond to, its hard to support them. This is like Rockland county, where they tried controlling it all including the new towns as they developed. It failed and they were forced to make divisions.
Besides, why are they in debt? The new ambulances were sponsored including the one that Avi Schnall supposedly arranged for Howell. They bill insurance which should cover the gas and equipment. Members are volunteers.

It was a PR stunt but apparently didn't work out that well after people are questioning the high salaries on the executive board and the bills to insurance for transports
DeleteIt was a sad attempt at click bate for marketing but there's was too much negative exposure
ReplyDeleteEver since my mother was billed over $10,000 for transport to Jersey Shore I stopped giving money to Hatzala.
