  2. The Gedolim didn't condemn setting fires or damaging property.
So with all respect, I would skip their shiurim on Bava Kama.
and they didn't condemn calling soldiers / policemen "Nazis".
So with all respect, I would skip their schmuzen on "Gadlus Ha'adam and "Tzelem Elokim".

    1. Ok. No problem. Just choose other Gedolim. Try to be more discerning this time around, so you don't have to do this again too soon.

    2. The present heads of Slabodka are not my Gedolim. Mine were from the previous generation who learned in the real Slabodka. A different universe.

    3. Yeah. Always prudent to not have any current Gedolim. Gedolim from the past are always easier to reconcile with one's personal preferences and opinions.

  3. There is a similar hypocrisy within parts of the so-called frum media regarding ICE. They are constantly posting anti-ICE narratives which place Klal Yisroel in sakana by openly criticizing President Trump and federal enforcement in Washington.
These same outlets that loudly speak about chilul Hashem and protecting the rule of law appear untroubled by the anti-ICE riots taking place across the country, while clearly taking a side against the president. In reality, they represent no one but themselves yet politicians may view them as speaking for Orthodox Jews. This risks not only a chilul Hashem but potentially putting the broader community in serious danger.

    1. This is what you get for planning and zoning board members being reappointed from the township comittee for 20 years. It works well as they are very 'comfortable' with all the developers, engineers and lawyers.....Us the taxpayer is a second thought

    1. Sadly, some people were persuaded by אינשי דלא מעלי not to vote, and their power is limited.
Next time, don't be an oiber chacham and go vote. You'll find the $5.

    2. And degel also promised no problem with them?

    3. Eretz Hakodesh were crushed by the Reform movement they fooled you into believing that if you vote for them they have power . It was all marketing so they can get money. Nothing else

      Delete
    4. They were crushed because they had insufficient votes.
The Eretz Hakodesh representatives would prefer that no money was distributed, so that the Reform movement also receives nothing.

Imagine we had withstood the yetzer hara who told us not to vote. How much stronger they would be now?

  7. regarding 2 chosomos ( instacart) the halacha is extremly limited , similar to yichud that its a chamur din but in many or most cases not nogeah- back to the take out, there is no nehene bechalipin in most cases, he is being tracked by the app - somewhat of a mirsas, many heimish foods are not even avail in treife format - if i give you an hr you cant find treife kishke / chulent combo , and one chosem it has for sure/ tevies ayin if you are a regular at a specific deli... ofcourse better with 2 chosmos , but halacha lemasah 9 out of ten times its oisgehalten ( these are not heterim or kulas these are situations where this din doesnt apply a big chiluk

    1. What’s to stop him from digging out a few pieces of good cholent meat and replacing with canned stew or something?

    2. Why is there no נהנה בחליפיו? If he makes himself a steak, he now needs to replace it.
Only when he eats a plate of stew and can leave the pot as it is do we say אינו נהנה בחליפיו.

    3. nehne bechalipin means there is a benefit to him trading in the kosher for traife, like if he has a way of selling the glatt tongue at a profit and replace it with perdue , today would be very hard.. and in the chulent example he cant buy treife chulent because its not readily avail. , and to pick out the little pieces of chulent meat when he has to replace it so for that the one siman wud help but i will look in further if canned stew...
in the bad butcher chazer stories the owner has lo aleinu a real case of nehne bechalipin if he can buy 1000traife chickens at 2$ less each and he has control and the keys...so he just backs the truck into the fridge

    4. one more point in insta cart the we are not choshed that truckers etc are going to open a pallet its easier to pull into a gas station and buy a sandwich ( this is the heter of sechoira bedvorim asurim)

    1. Oh, of course, the frum world was just completely minding its own business sitting in the Beis Medrash learning b’hasmada rabba and everyone turned on them. Seeing some of the whining going on I’m reminded of what Rav Yosef Elyah Henkin wrote in one of his essays against hafganos. For the people who won’t accept how wrong this is from a Torah perspective, he told them to just use their sechel and realize that you don’t start up with someone who is a lot stronger than you...
