Sidney Jewish community leader:
"This is a day of profound grief. Members of our community have been murdered. Others have been seriously injured. Families are shattered. A sacred moment of light has been turned into darkness. We are working urgently with authorities as further details are confirmed. Our focus right now is on the victims, their families, and the safety of the community,"

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese “This is a targeted attack on Jewish Australians on the first day of Hanukkah, which should be a day of joy, a celebration of faith  an act of evil, antisemitism, terrorism that has struck the heart of our nation,”.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar says Australia was warned about potential attacks on Jews as senior Israeli government officials express horror over today’s shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney, with some blaming Canberra for not doing enough to combat antisemitism.

The number of dead in the Sydney shooting is “higher than what has been reported,” Israel’s Ambassador to Australia Amir Maimon tells Channel 12 news.
There was no concrete intelligence about an impending attack, says Maimon after speaking with Australian authorities, but there were warnings in the national threat assessment about the likelihood of terrorist attacks.

“Since October 7 we have witnessed a series of actions against the Jewish community and its institutions, a series that only intensified,” Maimon says, adding that he said publicly on numerous occasions that “if I were to wake up one morning and learn that a Jew was physically harmed, I wouldn’t be surprised.”

  1. Attention Zionist Israeli ministers:
You do not represent world Jewry. Stop issuing statements as if you are in charge of, or responsible for, Jews around the world. You failed to protect your own citizens, as shown by the October 7th attack that happened in your own backyard. We are in galus and do not accept your claim to speak or act on our behalf.

    2. Do you see anywhere in their statements a claim that they speak for world Jewry? Only anti-Zionists claim the Israeli government says that. The Israeli government itself never claims that. Does the fact that you represent no one ever keep you quiet? Or have you convinced yourself that you represent more people and that more people agree with you than the reality?

    3. Yes why are they making statements at all what does it have to do with Israel?
Because they think that they are representing world jewry
They want to show the world that they are the safest place for jews כוחי ועוצם ידי they forgot about October 7th

    4. By that logic why are you posting comments? What does this or the Zionists have to do with you?

    7. I'm also anti zionist but you sound like a fool. The leaders of Israel were elected by a majority of Jews living in EY, it would only make sense for them to issue a statement condemning this massacre even if they aren't the spokesemen of the Jewish people worldwide. Many Jewish organizations will be condemning this as well. Being anti zionist doen't excuse you to post things without any seichel.

    8. 5:06 Categorically false. The state absolutely proclaim to be speaking for the Jewishl people.Regularly!

    9. Give me some examples of when the state absolutely proclaim to be speaking for the Jewish people as a whole. Just because a claim is frequently made in anti-Zionist propaganda doesn't make it true. I even asked Google and AI. Neither could come up with a time when the state of Israel claimed to be speaking for all Jews.

  2. His father was my Rebbi in Cheder in London, One of the good nice Rebbis. Until he couldn't afford to live off the Rebbi wage. I think he either joined his father or started his own handbag business if I remember right.

  3. About ten+ years ago, the Bondi community wanted to build a new campus. Local goyim got the local government to prevent it, citing specifically increased security costs from Arab terrorists. In the end, the national government made the local government approve it, but didn't place restrictions on Arabs and Muslims. (Note Pakistan is not Arab, but Muslim.)

  5. The Chabadskers go around as if golus has ended, they believe their dead Rebbeh is Moshiach. That is dangerous, as we have seen. Real Jews know that we are still in golus, and should keep a low profile.

    1. You are the danger Golus Yid. To talk that way when this just happened. It's you. And you. And you.

    2. Yes, only Chabad does it, real Jews like Satmar or Lakewood never rent out stadiums and make lots of noise about their events. Don't get high off your own supply.

    3. I'm as about as anti Chabad as you can get but I have no issue with them making a Chanuka event for secular Jews. From a perspective of being in Golus it is no different than any other frum public event. That aside and of more importance when Yidden are murdered we don't talk that way about them. Not even if they were murdered being Mechalal Shabbos on a beach. כיון שלקה הרי הוא אחיך. (see R' Reuven Grozevsky in his Kuntres on Rashayim V'Mumrim for more on that) Let alone when they are murdered Al Kiddush Hashem.

  6. Like it or not, they do somewhat represent the Jewish nation. It is the only Jewish state in the world and is home to the majority of Jewish people. It’s a terrible thing that secular Jews represent us, but see even shelaima from the gra Perek yud alef where he says that before moshiach the erev rav will be the spokesperson.
