- What happened to the snowstorm?

The storm that was expected to bring significant snowfall fell short after dry air lingered longer than forecast and warmer temperatures developed in the middle levels of the atmosphere. As a result, much of New Jersey—particularly central areas saw little snow, with precipitation instead falling as sleet and freezing rain, creating more hazardous conditions. Around 0.5 inches fell in the  Lakewood area.
