Day 812
- Two Killed in Terror Attacks in Northern Israel
A Palestinian terrorist from the West Bank carried out a combined car-ramming and stabbing attack in northern Israel on Friday, killing two people and wounding two others. The attack began shortly after noon on Route 71 near Beit She’an, where the assailant rammed his vehicle into a 16-year-old boy, lightly injuring him, and then struck and killed 68-year-old Mordechai Shimshon HYD. While fleeing toward Afula, the attacker stopped near Kibbutz Ein Harod and fatally stabbed 19-year-old Aviv Maor HYD. Near the entrance to Afula, he attempted another attack, lightly injuring a man, before fleeing on foot. The terrorist was shot and wounded by a civilian, captured by authorities, and taken to a hospital in moderate condition.
The terrorist infiltrated Israeli territory a few days ago at a borde breach near Yerushalayim and stayed in Israeli territory in recent days until the carried out the attack
Police said the lone terrorist, a 37-year-old Palestinian from Qabatiya near Jenin, carried out all four attacks, fleeing in his employer’s car before being shot at the entrance to Afula. He was reportedly working illegally in Israel.

- The Israel Air Force (IAF) on Thursday unveiled its relatively new unit for preventing October 7-style ground invasions of Israel, following the country’s complete unpreparedness for that role in 2023. Conceptually, the idea is that helicopters should be deployable, some within several minutes and some within an hour, to mow down and bomb invaders, such that the ground border defenses are not left alone.
The new unit is part of a larger transformation led by Brig. Gen. Gilad Bar Tal, shifting significant aspects of the IAF’s helicopter units from other tasks to border defense.
