Several Lakewood Rabbonim and mechanchos have signed on to an awareness campaign regarding those who rely on car service or taxi transportation, to have girls and ladies travel only in groups or if going alone to only use a female driver due to recent incidents pf local girls/ladies having been victimized by drivers.
Uber has tracking you can follow the car along the route and you can see before the ride if the driver is male or female with a option to cancel
ReplyDeleteWho would send a female alobe with a male driver ? Crazy/naive folks
ReplyDeleteLakeway has tracking … Roberto doesn’t and these other illegal Mexican groups that have drivers that drive like meshugenas
ReplyDeleteWhat about our masivta boys who hitch? Why aren’t they concerned?
ReplyDeleteSure they should be alert who they hitch with and no woman should be misunderstanding when a boy will not come with her.
DeleteWhat about the perverted animal bus drivers we have
ReplyDeletePlease make more awareness
DeleteWhy not mandate every mosad ro have their own busing, it's rm terrible chinuch to have our little children exposed to untzniis lady drivers or drivers that talk nivul peh
ReplyDeleteIt is not a matter of tracking it is the longterm ודי למבין
ReplyDeleteSadly, some perverted sense of tznius, likely sourced from the Goyishe world, has convince some women that driving is not ok for them. There is no halachic source for this idea, it is based on am haaratzus. This has caused countless breaches of tznius in those communities, but by now it is part of their culture, and culture overrides halacha, hashkafa, tznius, and common sense.
ReplyDeleteComing from someone whose daas torah comes from blogs.
DeleteDoesn’t matter about tracking. It’s the drivers hooking up with innocent girls.
ReplyDeleteThere's been an ad campaign over the last few weeks about a taxi company from Monsey warning about non safe situations with taxis, and they might cone to Lakewood
ReplyDeleteAre they involved with this
Hopefully so!
DeleteI was wondering also if they brought this up. Seems strange that they advertised and then this whole issue suddenly was brought up.
DeleteHow about bus service, that is always talked about but not implemented
ReplyDeleteWhy wont they let the high school girls drive if there are so many problems with car services?
ReplyDeleteSolution to problem does not necessarily have to be
Deleteanother problem.
maybe there scared to drive
ReplyDeleteThis is on the committee who created a mess of dangerous roadways but because of traffic, parents can't drive their kids across town as every trip is 30- 40 minutes and back. They can't take off from work if kids miss a bus or other reasons.
ReplyDeleteOf course nothing will be done to fix the issues. Our wonderful Vaad members “Love Traffic”.
DeleteThe geniuses in charge have empty lakewood shuttle buses driving around but only had it serving the new chasidishe developments to bring patients to CHEMED or some shopping centers
ReplyDeletea few facts;
ReplyDelete1. a mitzva not to instill excess fear in yidden
2. factually nothing serious has been going on , ask your daughters and wives
3 and even if a driver would ask a question or two u can politely end it a yid is trained to say no
4 this campaign is by a monsey based car service , who made a killing ,making panic and busting the goy car service , if u want to install cameras good.. but dont make believe that yiddishe girls are being touched by goy drivers ( most inappropiate touching that has ever gone on is by " UNZERE"
When you see big, expensive campaigns making a fuss about something, it’s usually because someone with a business interest is behind it.
DeleteThey don’t care about your safety. Sadly, they get well-meaning leaders to support them.
Who else would spend all that money advertising on one issue while much bigger problems get ignored?
There is no way the heads of Lakewood girls high schools signed this only because some Monsey based car service wanted them to.
Deleteu are correct, monsey had some issues as a segment of that population is very very nieve . ( the police said on record they didnt have one complaint filed) .and a good guy ( bemes a good guy) in a position of power sounded an alarm and opened a car service with some safegaurds and killed all the other ones.
Deletethe argument the principals will say is we can always do better and the world has gotten more dangerous and who loses .....the car service..
finally lets even say that some driver gave a girl his phone number ...so u put the paper in the garbage finished, we dont drop like a fly from every little nisayon,
in the end its not possible to have only lady car service drivers...
Dependable Car Service had a fleet of men drivers and a fleet of women drivers.
DeleteIt's not just getting customers to use heimishe car services, it's the doubling of prices while they're at it.
DeleteMaybe mechanchot are getting a few free rides, maybe a fellow mechanechet husband (or brother) owns a car service (probably unlicensed)?
This has been going 0n for a few years interesting that this campaign is public at the same time that a new taxi company is advertising
ReplyDeleteGreat!
DeleteResponsible awareness. Publicizing the problem when a solution is near.
These same menaheleses that signed here have no issue with the bus drivers they entrust the girls to every day. Many of these drivers openly exhibit problematic behavior and, at the very least, serve as a terrible influence on the students.
ReplyDeletePerhaps they can be made aware of it.
DeleteThe Mashgiach Z"L spoke out clear.
Later organizations were founded and swayed.
It's looking more and more that this is an ad campaign for a new taxi company coming to Lakewood
ReplyDeleteNot nice to do so by hurting other businesses
you are 100% correct - they tried abt two yrs ago under the name "heimish" looks like they are going for round 2 This scare tactic campaign shld name ONE car service driver that did anything remotely inappropriate. shouldn't the public be aware of such a person within the community? Every driver is pleasant/courteous just trying to earn an honest living!
DeleteOne nice fellow who was fed up working for a certain company, tried or actually opened his car service. Not They or anything else, c'mon.
