We Need to Realize we Are in Golus

At the Q&A session of the Agudah convention The roshei yeshiva were asked about the Torah approach to rising antisemitism in America. Rav Brudny said that we need to realize we are in Galus and be thankful to our host country. He than lamented those politicians that are the faces of the impeachment proceedings  targeting the president from when he was elected. What they are doing is causing hate and antisemitism against Yidden in America. He alluded to the video clip far-right Christian talk show  who has posted a viciously antisemitic rant about the current presidential impeachment battle in the US Congress. Pastor Rick Wiles called a “Jew coup” Addressing the impeachment proceedings currently underway against Trump, on his talk show last Monday.

  1. Why are those politicians to be condemned? WHy not show some hakoras hatov to them too? WHen frumme newspapers ranted against President Obama, did he say the same things?

    1. No shaychus Obama made the Iran deal and had a vendetta against Netanyahu that jepordized the safety of יושבי ארץ ישראל
And despite all that the aguda did not put out statements against during his presidency.
By Trump Agudah took a left approach and attacked a president who was the friendliest to the Jews.

    2. I, and you, and the Aguda, have no clue if the Iran deal was good for אחינו יושבי ארץ ישראל or not. I don't believe Netanyahu, and I certainly don't believe sound byte media.
The Aguda had no business issuing statements then, as now.

  2. The Agudah itself out out a statement attacking Trump on immigration why are they not putting out a statement now showing support for the ohev yisroel in the Whitehouse?

The Agudah lawsuits in Jackson and forcing elected officials to resign is also creating backlash against frummeh yidden this approach of JDL tactics is against how we should act in galus

  3. DEAR AGUDAH
ITS VERY SIMPLE JUST FOLLOW THE TORAH
    SUPPORT
    ONLY
POLITICIANS THAT STICK WITH TRUE TORAH MORAL VALUES

    1. Being tolerant of others. Being open and welcoming to outsiders and helping others in need are just as much Jewish values as the few things you seem to be focused on.

  4. We don't expect a us president to be a tzadik or even have good middos. Rav Elchanan Wasserman said the bracha of שלא עשני גוי includes even a president. What matters are the policy's and the agenda regarding Jews in the us and the safety of yiddin in Eretz yisrael

    1. He further stated that it was precisely too much tolerance and acceptance of evil-doers and the presumption that is not our obligation to confront them
even though there were quite a few virtuous people
caused the destruction and the Exile from the First Beis HaMikdash

      how about that Anon 5:48

    2. He was talking about those evil-doers for whom we have an obligation of arvus. We have no obligation of arvus for the rest of the world, and we can and should vote for whatever is best for our interests.

  5. Anon 5:48,
you conflated your selfish Western postmodernism
    with our religion
at least come out of closet and say it

    1. At the end of the day this country protects Avoda Zara worship....every type of Gilui Arayos including mishkav zachor....including the president and Republicans. So let’s not pretend that there’s so kind of binary dynamic here.
Rachmona Liba Boya..... One side is preoccupied with exclusion...keeping people out....maligning people....hatred.....
The other side is for the most part focused on helping others...welcoming others...and tolerating people....even if they might not line up with our morality...that’s not why they’re accepting them....there’s no l’hachis going on here for the most part.

  6. Someone has( hedonistic) axe to grind . keep going

"here’s no l’hachis going on here for the most part"
either you are not clued in & ignorant, probably willfully
or you are being deceitful & aware of it

The other side's Vanguard smirks whenever they read comments such as that one

    Plus
The people of Cana'an were very pluralistic & tolerant
    they tolerated our ancestors too
they abided to the command of their forebear Cana'an
אהוב את הגניבה אהוב את הזימה ..ואוהבים זה את זה

how dare we be commanded to wipe them out??
    How come?

  7. The torah is very clear that we are commanded to wipe them out because of their avodah zara.

FYI idol worshipping is 100% legal in the United States.

    1. The foundational influence of the United States is Calvinism which is not avodah Zarah for a non-jew
even if only a minority today inherit anything like that

      Second J
Jeremiah 2:13 a implies that moral precepts at least in the short-term is more critical
eventually those who follow it will back

    2. Why did the אבות insist on choosing a spouse from their own family, the descendants of שם in ארם
The popular answer is because they had better מדות – character traits. How could this make sense? לבן and בתואל were thieves, and potential murderers.
      Au Contraire.
The כנענים , based on what כנען told them on his deathbed were אוהב את . ... but also אוהבים ז ה את זה And more accommodating in general

Answer: the בני שם were גדור בעריות [at least to an extent עיי]ן רשי כד:טז . For the אבות this was the cucial basis for everything else.
This explains why was בלעם who was an einekel of ל ב ן was supposed to be destroyed (even though לבן and בני יעקב had an agreement).
Until בלעם came along, it says the world was .גדור
How can this be? מצרים and כנען were not
When it says “the world” it means the בני שם

    3. Here’s the part that you don’t seem to understand.

Legally....all this arayos is 100% legal in the United States. The United States will protect every act and every form of sexual deviancy....both the republican and Democratic Party. How is that גדור בעריות?

    4. at least now you really seem to imply that you're ready to agree that if there is one side which is happy with the realities and is pushing the bounds even further
and one which is unhappy and wants to walk it back
it should be readily obvious to an orthodox Jew With which side of the kulturkampf He and she ought to to Ally with

      No not everything is legal
certain forms of incest are not
      as is pathetically ironic
      consensual polygamy

      Delete
    5. I don’t think either side is willing to walk anything back. Both sides have long crossed that barrier and aside for a very small minority most have come to the realization that this is the new reality and do yes...both sides are firmly in the camp that believes that all these acts should be legal....and it’s no ones business what consenting adults do....which is clearly against the Torah.

And earlier when I said that it is perfectly legal to be Oved Avoda Zara I wasn’t referring to Calvinism or any form of Christianity. It is 100% legal to erect a temple to Ba’al or Oden or the sun and worship to your hearts content.

  8. See Daras Moshe for the Drosha Rav Moshe Feinstein gave in honor of the United States 150th birthday.

Aside for addressing the question of "The Torah says to wipe them out" (hint he doesn't describe in that manner)

he very clearly says that it is a wonderful and correct thing that US does not prevent people from worshipping whatever religion they believe in.

    1. Somehow you ignore his later public letter where he says we must publicly protest against deviancy even potentially block the streets
"להודיע לכל העמים שעם ה' שונא תועבה"

    2. I didn't ignore anything.

I'm aware that Rav Moshe (like most gedolim) was of the opinion that we have to fight against the acceptance of Toeva and abortion that are endlessly growing in the US and don't see any contradiction between that and his droa in Doros Moshe

I never saw any public letter where he says we must publicly protest against deviancy even potentially block the streets
