Gourmet Glatt South of Lakewood opened today at the Seagull Square shopping Plaza at the Border of Lakewood and Toms River. A Ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 12:00 pm on Tuesday as the store officially opened. The other Lakewood location is to the North on Madison avenue. The new location will have many features an array of takeout selections by the GG chefs. The Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva and Rabbonim from Lakewood and TR were on hand at a private Kvias Mezuzzah event.
Not an appropriate place for the Rosh Yeshivas methinks.
ReplyDeleteMethinks it may not be appropriate for an anonymous commentator to criticize a Rosh Yeshiva b'rabbim.
DeleteNo one is criticizing the RY. The point is that they get schlepped all over whole others can fill in for a store opening it's not siddur kidushin
DeleteI am sure the Rosh Yeshivas are capable of saying no, yet they feel it's important they attend.
DeleteThey don't know ahead of time all the events & functions that are lined up for them. The driver takes them.
Deleteאם אין קמח אין תורה. That's why he's there.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly the point, it shouldn't be expected of him to come to a store grand opening in order to get the קמח.
DeleteWhen did Kvias Mezuzah become an "event" in the first place?? The Roshei Yeshiva are now seen routinely doing upsherins, putting on tefillin and now kvias mezuzah. It's a new world.
ReplyDeleteWhy didnt they keep the mezuzos from NPGS. They were affixed to the door post with much more kedusha.
ReplyDeleteHow do you figure?
