Israel at war day 338

- A massive wave of Israeli airstrikes in Damascus, Hama, Tartus, and Latakia, all in Syri
The research center in Masyaf was manned by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and has suffered enormous damage."
Reports of a large number of killed and injured at various sites, at least 15 targets have been struck. These sites were operated by IRGC and Hezbolah.

- Multiple Gazan channels are reporting that, for the first time in several months, Internet, electric, and communication services are entirely disabled in the south and center of the Gaza Strip.

Report from Axios by Barak Ravid that while Biden wants to keep pushing for a deal, all of his advisors and cabinet members think that a new proposal will be dead on arrival. Ravid writes that "the murder of six hostages by Hamas, among them American citizen Hersh Golberg-Polin, and the group's new demand to release 100 more Palestinian prisoners who are serving life sentences for murdering Israelis caused significant pessimism at the White House." (Raylan GIvens)

- Terror attack: 3 Israelis killed in terror shooting at crossing between West Bank and Jordan at Allenby bridge. In the Jordan valley.
The attack was carried out by a truck driver who had arrived from Jordan waiting at a inspection at the terminal and opened fire at several of the crossing’s workers, killing three. He was shot dead by security forces. Thr victims are Yohanan Shchori, 61, of Ma'ale Efrayim, and Yuri Birnbaum, 65, of Na'ama.

- Over 50 rockets fired at the north in Israel overnight by Hezbollah with some damage to a buildingin in Kiryat Shmona, no injuries reported

- Gaza: Per the Washington Post, the Biden admin is "indefinitely postponing" their updated ceasefire proposal. American officials believe a ceasefire before Biden’s term ends in January is now “unattainable.” The main reasoning behind this decision is Sinwar’s new demand for the release of murderers in exchange for Israeli civilian hostages, not just soldiers like the earlier proposal. Israel is expected to transition to Phase D of the fighting, which is a counterinsurgency campaign.

- The Lebanese PM told Al-Jazeera that Israel had passed messages to the Lebanese government that in the event of a ceasefire in Gaza, Israel is NOT interested in also pursuing a ceasefire with Hezbollah. The secret negotiations that the Americans have been running have made zero progress, and Hezbollah is not interested in withdrawing from the border whatsoever.Israel will have to move them back to the Litani River with a military operation,

-Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's remarks at the beginning of the cabinet meeting: …” Last weekend, the German newspaper Bild published an official Hams document that reveals its plan of action: to sow division within us, to wage psychological warfare on the families of the abductees, to exert internal and external political pressure on the Israeli government, to tear us apart from the inside, and to continue the war until they defeat of Israel.

If Trump trounces Kamala at the debate, get ready for some very strange things to happen before November. They’ve already sued him, prosecuted him, tried to kick him off the ballot, and swapped out his opponent. All of it could be just a preview of what’s to come.

- Elon Musk: The first Starships to Mars will launch in 2 years when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens.
These will be uncrewed to test the reliability of landing intact on Mars. If those landings go well, then the first crewed flights to Mars will be in 4 years.  Flight rate will grow exponentially from there, with the goal of building a self-sustaining city in about 20 years. Being multiplanetary will vastly increase the probable lifespan of consciousness, as we will no longer have all our eggs, literally and metabolically, on one planet.

Trump: CEASE & DESIST: I, together with many Attorneys and Legal Scholars, am watching the Sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election very closely because I know, better than most, the rampant Cheating and Skullduggery that has taken place by the Democrats in the 2020 Presidential Election. It was a Disgrace to our Nation! Therefore, the 2024 Election, where Votes have just started being cast, will be under the closest professional scrutiny and, WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again. We cannot let our Country further devolve into a Third World Nation...

- From Yated Neeman editorial: But I was not - prepared for what is feeling like the beginning of an American “Again” chas veshalom, when New York is now host to thousands of anti-Semitic marchers openly calling for heinous acts to be perpetrated upon Yidden. It is not slowing down, and the fuel of rhetoric from the so-called halls of academia is fanning the flames of what was once thought impossible in America. No marches, no propaganda, no reasoning seems to be helping. The originator of the hopeful prediction that promised that we would never see a reoccurrence of the atrocities of eighty years prior is no longer with us. He was gunned down by a bullet that had our enemy’s desire of “Once Again” scratched into it.We are in the Hands of the One who orchestrates all. Certainly, political machinations, security apparatuses and public opinion have not been an impediment to assure that such atrocities will never resurface.

- Agudath Yisrael of America
Torah, Torah, Chigri Sak: Upon the Shocking and Untimely Petirah of Hagaon Rav Avrohom Ausband zt”l
It is with profound sadness and deep shock that Agudath Israel of America mourns the sudden petirah of Hagaon Rav Avrohom Ausband zt”l, rosh yeshivah of Yeshivah of Telshe Alumni of Riverdale, NY. Rav Ausband was one of the leading roshei yeshivah in the United States, whose influence shaped the lives of countless talmidim.

As the leader of the prestigious Riverdale Yeshiva, Rav Ausband perpetuated the mesorah of Telz with uncompromising dedication. His shiurim, hadrachah, and leadership raised generations of bnei Torah, instilling in them a deep connection to Torah, yiras Shamayim, and mussar. He was a powerful and eloquent voice in the Torah world, standing as a beacon of wisdom, clarity, and Torah truth.

His passing leaves a gaping void that is felt by the greater Torah community. His passing is a devastating blow, as we grieve the loss of one who embodied the mesorah of Telz and true Torah greatness. His legacy will live on through his talmidim and the yeshivah he built, but his absence will be keenly felt by the thousands impacted by his influence.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ausband family, his talmidim, and all who were inspired by his extraordinary leadership and example. Yehi zichro baruch.

But the actual upgrades will not occur for at least five years. Recent data found that more than 1,000 accidents had occurred along these stretches of road  between 2018 and 2022, above the county road average. Specifically, more than 31% of the crashes in the area are from left turns and rear-end collisions
Ocean county officials said in a recent report. “Lakewood’s community has a high number of residents who walk or bike along these corridors. The heavy vehicle volumes create safety concerns for pedestrians and cyclists.”

- Statement from Hersh זGoldberg's parents in response to the video released by Hamas: "We are in the midst of the seven day Jewish mourning period after burying our son Hersh, of blessed memory, on Monday.
Earlier tonight, Hamas released a new video of him, taken while he was being held hostage in the tunnels underneath Gaza. This must serve as an immediate wake-up call to the world to take action today to secure the release of the remaining 101 hostages before it is too late. No other family should go through what our family and the families of the other recently executed hostages have endured."

- Trump to the RJC Summit: "When I left office, America was safe, Israel was safe, the Jewish people were safe… I withdrew from the anti-Semitic United Nations Human Rights Council. I defunded the Palestinian Authority and choked off the money to Hamas…recognized Israel's eternal capital and opened the American embassy in Jeruslaem.”

- The current estimation in Israel is that the US might not even bother with a new offer for the negotiations. The US is reportedly mad at Bibi and frustrated with Hams. The Biden administration is seeking to return the four remaining American hostages believed to be alive: Edan Alexander, Sagui Dekel-Chen, Omer Neutra, and Keith Seigal, as well as the bodies still held by Hamas of Itay Chen, Gadi Haggai, and Judith Weinstein Haggai, all of which were confirmed dead. Critics say this deal will leave the rest of the hostages doomed.

- US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew said today that Hamas is hardening their positions and asking for new things that were never discussed before…

- Netanyahu told fox news that a hostage deal is not about to be sealed. “There is not a deal in the making, unfortunately.” “It’s not close,” he says, blaming Hamas rejectionism and stressing that there are unresolved issues beyond the future of the Philadelphi Corridor. Do you feel that tuition relief isn’t a realistic ask at this time? I imagine you get asked this question all the time: "So, Rabbi Schorr, when is tuition relief coming to New Jersey residents?"

Rabbi Shlomo Schorr:

There's no doubt that tuition is the number one concern for Jewish parents, not just in New Jersey, but across the country. We've seen some success in other states, but here in New Jersey, it's a multi-year plan that we just kicked into high gear this past year. We hope that, be'ezras Hashem, we’ll see some progress on this front. How significant and how soon? That remains to be seen, but we're optimistic.

- Vivek Ramaswamy this morning: "Kamala Harris was one of the strongest proponents for a ban on fracking. So much so that when she was in California, she sued the Obama administration over granting fracking permits."
"She didn't just favor the abolition of private health insurance, she was a co-sponsor of the bill with Bernie Sanders for Medicare For All. She said she would end the filibuster in the Senate to ram through the Green New Deal."

- Lakewood Township taxpayers are on the hook to pay the legal fees for the Lakewood Township Police Department,  who have been slammed with a Civil Rights complaint over allegations of racism and retaliation. Full story on faanews.com

Israel At War Wednesday Sep 4

 Israel at war day 334

- A senior Biden administration official indicates that fewer living hostages will be released in the first phase of the deal as a result of Hamas’s execution of six captives last week.
“For each hostage, there’s a certain number of Palestinian prisoners that will come out, so you just have fewer hostages as part of the deal in phase one,” the official says in a briefing with reporters. “It’s tragic and awful, and it’s affecting all of us.” Roughly 30 hostages are slated to be released in the first phase from the following three categories: women, elderly and sick. Hamas has offered to release the bodies of hostages, while Israel has sought to secure the release of hostages from other categories to maximize the number of living captives freed in the first phase.

- Meta’s Oversight Board has ruled that posts in Facebook with the content ‘From the River to the Sea’ cannot automatically be classified as hate speech.

- Axios: Israel and the US are intensifying their discussions on Lebanon, "the primary Israeli demand is that any diplomatic deal with Lebanon will include the withdrawal of Hezbollah's elite Radwan force at least 10km from the border."

- Netanyahu: "Leaving the Philadelphi corridor will not promote a deal. Hams wants to return a small number of abductees - and leave the others behind."

- Eden Yerushalmi Z"L, one of the executed hostages, weighed a mere 36 kg (79lb) at the time of her death. This is a sign of brutal starvation and malnutrition.

- Hezbollah launched its largest attack on the North today since August 25, launching around 65 rockets and with 48 rocket sirens going off shortly after noon. There have also been direct hits in Kiryat Shmona, hits in other places, and fires caused by hits in fields. Some of the additional areas which were targeted included Malchia, Ramot Naftali, and Beit Hillel. No injuries reported.

-Britain's Daily Telegraph: The arms boycott is a shameful betrayal of a heroic ally. "To impose sanctions on the grounds of harming innocents a day after Hams murdered six innocents is satire at its best."

- Troops blew shofar this morning at thr Netzarim junction

- The IDF attacked last night; fighter jets struck a launcher belonging to the Hezbollah in the Zabkin region of southern Lebanon, from which launches were made toward Israel. In addition, the military buildings of the organization were attacked in the areas of al-Khyam and Aita al-Sha'ab in southern Lebanon.

- The United States is working on a proposal to secure the release of all the remaining 101 hostages in Gaza and to stop the fighting in that enclave, US National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday as skepticism was high that an agreement could be finalized.

- Israeli negotiators told mediators in recent days that they still support a complete withdrawal of the IDF from the Philadelphi Corridor in the second phase of a potential hostage deal, despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assertion that Jerusalem must maintain a military presence there indefinitely, according to Hebrew media reports Tuesday.

- A senior member of Hams to the Lebanese al-Mayadeen channel: "The head of the Mossad informed the mediators that Israel will withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor in the second phase of the agreement, and this is not acceptable to the 'resistance.' Hams insists on withdrawing forces from the Philadelphi corridor in the first phase because there are no guarantees of reaching the second phase."

- US says Israel agreed to pull troops from Philadelphi The Gaza hostages deal has included an IDF withdrawal from sections of the Philadelphi Corridor, US National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday as he pushed back at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s insistence that Israel would refuse to take such a step.

Israel At War Monday Sep 2

Israel at war day 332

- Today Labor Day, up to 7,000 demonstrators marched through New York City, including some waving Hamas flags, while others lit flares and set off smoke bombs. The crowd gathered at Union Square and proceeded toward Washington Square Park. protesters shoved NYPD officers aside as the march continued.
The protesters carried Palestinian, Syrian, Iranian, and Hezbollah flags, chanting slogans like “Free Palestine!”

- Israeli Security source: "Hamas managed to restore its capabilities in the northern Gaza Strip". According to estimates, there are currently about 3,000 Hamas operatives who have returned to operating in the northern Gaza Strip and are restoring the terrorist organization's operational capabilities. According to senior officials in the security system: "There will be no escape from a renewed and massive entry of IDF forces into the northern Gaza Strip."

- Netanyahu: On August 28th - that’s five days ago - five days ago - Deputy CIA Director said that ‘Israel shows seriousness in the negotiations. Now Hamas must show the same seriousness.’
I want to ask you something. What has changed in the last five days? What has changed? One thing: these murderers executed six of our hostages. They shot them in the back of the head. That’s what changed! And now after this, we’re asked to show seriousness?! We’re asked to make concessions?! What message does this send Hamas?! It says, kill more hostages. Murder more hostages and you will get more concessions. The pressure internationally must be directed at these killers! At Hamas. Not at Israel. We say ‘yes’. They say ‘no’ all the time but they also murdered these people. And we now we need maximum pressure on Hamas.

- Netanyahu: I don't believe that either President Biden or anyone serious about achieving peace and achieving the release would seriously ask Israel, Israel to make these concessions. We’ve already made them. Hamas has to make the concessions. Thank you very much.

- Netanyahu apologizes for hostages' deaths, defends Philadelphi Corridor decision
To the families of the six hostages, he said, “I ask your apology that we did not succeed in bringing them home alive.”

- Bibi responds to Biden "After a terrible massacre, to change his mind and place the blame on Israel? I can't believe he said that."

- Hamas has just admitted that the terrorists who were in charge of guarding the 6 hostages executed them because the IDF approached the area. Hamas in a written announcement: "We say clearly after the incident in Nuseirat (Operation Arnon), the guards of the prisoners (hostages) were given new instructions on how to treat them if the occupation army approaches the place where they are."

- Netanyahu press conference takeaways: A crystal clear message to Sinwar: no pressure from the US or far-left elements in Israel will change our stance on Philadelphi. No regional war will come and save you. By going public and declaring in front of the entire world that under no circumstances will Israel withdraw from Philadelphi, Bibi has "locked in" that position as a public promise that he can never renege on. Indirectly, Bibi also sent a clear message to the Biden/Harris administration: the aspect of the deal concerning Philadelphi is now non-negotiable. This firm stance leaves no room for further negotiation on this issue.

- A barrage of some 30 rockets was fired from Lebanon at the Western Galilee this afternoon, the IDF says. There are no injuries in the attack,

- President Biden criticizes Prime Minister Netanyahu for delaying Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal urging swift action to finalize the agreement.

- A senior Israeli official answered Biden: "It is strange that the US president is putting pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu, who agreed to the American offer as early as May 31 and the American mediation offer on August 16, and not on Sinwar, who continues to vehemently refuse any deal. The words of the US president are especially dangerous when they are said just days after Hams executed six Israeli hostages, including an American citizen."

- Netanyahu's now in the cabinet meeting: "We will not leave the Philadelphi corridor, not in 42 days and not in 42 years"

-British Foreign Minister David Lammy: We suspend part of arms exports to Israel; according to our assessment, there is a clear risk that British defense exports are used to lead to violations of international law by Israel. We do not take this decision lightly. We continue to support Israel's right to defend itself.

- Hamas says that they will agree to any deal that guarantees a permanent ceasefire and a full IDF withdrawal from Gaza.

- Biden blames bibi: Journalist To Biden: Do you think it is time for Netanyahu to do more on this issue or do you think he is doing enough? Biden: No

- Journalist Raylan Givens: Biden/Harris "Ironclad support" for Israel includes now giving more aid for Hams, all just to try to hide the fact that their policies killed the hostages, among them an American. Hams just announced that they are pleased and agree with Biden's word that it's Bibi's fault.

-Nikki Haley: How many more of these funerals have to happen before Kamala Harris and Joe Biden start playing hardball and put the sanctions back on Iran? Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, none of these terror groups take this administration seriously. Cut off their money so the horror stops. #FinishHamas

- Thousands of Israelis attend Hersh Goldberg funeral . Father of murdered hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin at funeral: ‘We failed you. We all failed you’
Rachel, mother of Hirsch Goldberg-Pollin in his funeral: "It's not that Hirsch was perfect but he was a perfect son for me. I am full of gratitude to G-D for giving me the privilege of being Hirsch's mother. I thank G-D for that. I wish I could have won more time with you. 330 days of panic and anxiety have passed. I know you are no longer in danger. You can play chess with Grandpa Stan. How will we live without you?

- A car bomb was found near Atarot. This car bomb was supposed to explode this morning near a kid's bus

- A document that it says shows hostages Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Carmel Gat and Eden Yerushalmi were on a list of “humanitarian hostages” whose release Israel was expecting in the first phase of a potential ceasefire-hostage deal. The three were among six hostages murdered by their Hamas captors at the end of last week

- Biden and VP Kamala Harris will meet with U.S. hostage deal negotiating team in the White House Situation Room tomorrow morning.

- Trump: We grieve the senseless death of the Israeli Hostages, horrifically including a wonderful American Citizen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, murdered by Hamas due to a complete lack of American Strength and Leadership. Make no mistake - This happened because Comrade Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden are poor Leaders. Americans are getting slaughtered overseas, while Kamala is disparaging and making up lies about Gold Star families, and Biden is sleeping on the beach on this 16th consecutive day of vacation. They have blood on their hands! Sadly, this is the total lack of “Leadership” that Kamala and Biden represent - One that allows terrorists to take American lives, because they only care about Weaponizing the Department of Justice against their Political Opponent. Just like the Debacle of the Afghanistan Withdrawal that claimed 13 American lives, Kamala and Biden’s judgment has not only put lives at risk, but is directly responsible for unnecessary deaths that should have never happened….

Whoever murders hostages – does not want a deal. For our part, we will not relent. The Government of Israel is committed, and I am personally committed, to continue striving toward a deal that will return all of our hostages...”

- Ben Shapiro: The word "evil" is not descriptive enough for Hamas. They murdered in cold blood six people they had taken hostage almost a year ago, including an American, just days ago -- all in an attempt to sow seeds of political chaos. A few points:
The Biden White House spent months delaying Israel's entry into Rafah, including by withholding armaments. Would more hostages have been liberated in March, if the Biden administration hadn't stood in the way playing effective defense for Hamas?
A tragic day for Israelis and Americans. Evil must always be fought. There is no other way.

- After a comprehensive medical examination, the Ministry of Health in Israel has concluded that the 6 hostages were murdered by numerous gunshots at close range.

-The Tikva Forum, a group of hostage families who say they are putting country before their loved ones, have released a statement regarding the recovery yesterday of six bodies belonging to hostages in Southern Gaza, “after the abominable cold blooded murder, we demand that the Prime Minister announce the end of negotiations immediately and increase the fighting.”
