Iran Israel Updates Friday Oct 9

- Trump said Iran had been prevented from obtaining nuclear weapons and predicted that fuel prices would fall. He added that the war would end soon “one way or another,” claiming Iran has no functioning military capabilities and that no one is passing through the Strait of Hormuzaa

- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted a tanker trying to “illegally" pass through the Strait of Hormuz, causing a massive fire, the country's state media reported on Friday.

- Israel’s Foreign Ministry urged Israelis abroad to remain vigilant and avoid demonstrations or areas at risk of clashes and antisemitic incidents ahead of protests expected tomorrow around the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre. 

- British Airways plans to resume flight services to and from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport on October 25, when it will begin operating a reduced schedule, it announced Wednesday.

- The IDF says it carried out a strike on a Syrian man it says was planning terror activity directed by Iran. In a statement, the military says it carried out an airstrike today along the Syrian-Lebanon border on Yusef Ali Al-Hassan, “a Syrian terrorist who advanced terror plots against Israeli civilians and IDF forces operating in southern Syria, under the direction of the Iranian terror regime.”

- According to findings released by UAE authorities, the Omani co-pilot intended to hijack the Flydubai aircraft and crash it into the passenger terminal at Ben Gurion Airport in a suicide terrorist attack inspired by September 11, 2001. Investigators reportedly established that: His radicalization began as early as 2017 while studying in Australia. He passed all professional and security screening requirements without raising suspicion.He attacked the captain inside the cockpit with an emergency axe. A second captain, assisted by cabin crew and passengers, helped rescue the injured pilot and overpower the terrorist.
