Am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteDidn't oilam kinyan hatorah say thry raised over 100 million dollars just from lakewood yearly for the past 2 years... these numbers aren't anywhere near that!
Yes
DeleteA good idea would be to read the full sentence.
DeleteIt is a list of the 'top' Yeshivos, those who receive the most. It is not a comprehensive list.
No idea where you got that number from.
DeleteLook at https://www.rayze.it/olamhatorah .
The entire North American campaign this year raised a total of 123M. Of that, 25M came from Lakewood gvirim. Small donations (Team Lakewood) adds another 3.65M. So Lakewood's total for this year is under 29 million.
Lsta raising prices to $895 is a crime onto itself but the way they do it would make a mafiaozi cartel proud have the schools demand the money since the school won't be paid for busing till each and every student is paid up so that way you can't argue with the school and you are forced to pay no matter what type of issues you have with their service and when you call the lsta they can simply ignore you
ReplyDeleteWell, now we no longer need LSTA serving as the middleman for transportation funds, as their mission of providing affordable bussing to non-mandated students has become moot.
ReplyDeleteThere are five member of the lsta board
ReplyDeleteRabbi Osher Lederer- Yeshiva Ktana
Rabbi Avi Verschleiser – Bais Shaindel, Bais Rivka Rochel
Rabbi Shimi Balsam -Rachmisrivk
Rabbi Yisroel Shenkolevsky- Bais Kaila
Rabbi Gad Meir Censor- Nesovos Hatorah
If there are so many non-resident voters, how many non-residents in Lakewood schools, that are not entitled to Lakewood Board of Ed schools. (side question -- is Lakewood schools such high quality? maybe there's too much "fat" there, to cut.)
ReplyDeleteLakewood schools in both cases meaning Lakewood public schools.
DeleteIf there are 1100 undocumented drivers in Lakewood, how many of them have children in Lakewood schools? Make the Demoncrats (in Trenton, or President BIden, who are responsible for them) pay for those out of a separate budget.
ReplyDeleteAlso how many non Lakewood residents attend Lakewood public schools from what I heard it's a lot...
DeleteRe: that graphic -- compare to number of talmidim.
ReplyDeleteMamdani is on vacation (with his wife in Syria and Labanon).
ReplyDeleteHe could not have said that.
Anyway, he'll only give those grocery allocations to Muslims (not even African-Americans, he really doesnt like them anyway, unless they're Socialists, and not helping them anyway)
Rav Meir Simcha's Yahrtzeit
ReplyDeleteAs one who has long counted himself among the devoted talmidim of the Meshech Chochmah, spending many years learning and relearning his Torah from week to week, this past week was, for me, nothing short of a personal Yom Tov. In Ir HaTorah, Lakewood, two distinguished gatherings were held to mark the one hundredth yahrtzeit of Maran Rav Meir Simcha of Dvinsk zt”l, and since they were scheduled at different times, I had the zechus to attend both.
The first took place on Sunday afternoon in Beis Medrash Lutzk, where the sole speaker was Rav Michoel Sorotzkin. The second was held that evening, with divrei Torah and remarks from Rav Yaakov Drillman, Rav Uren Reich, and Rav Lipa Geldwerth. Both gatherings were conducted with genuine kavod and dignity. At the evening gathering, Rav Drillman illuminated the sugya of havarah lelav yatza through the unique derech of Rav Meir Simcha. Rav Uren Reich, who is immersed throughout the year in the Torah of Rav Meir Simcha and is among those who regularly transmit its depth to others, developed further aspects of his Torah, and Rav Geldwerth spoke movingly about the life and personality of the Ohr Sameach. The entire maamad was uplifting and worthy of the occasion.
And yet, the shiur delivered that afternoon by Rav Sorotzkin in Lutzk was of an altogether different order. It was, quite literally, a shidud hama’arachos. With extraordinary breadth, depth, force, and a rare emotional intensity, he wove together, with the hand of an אומן, the towering personality of Rav Meir Simcha as it emerges from his Torah across the entire expanse of Shas and Torah. It was not merely a shiur about Rav Meir Simcha. For that hour, one felt as though the figure himself had somehow stepped out from between the lines of Ohr Sameach and Meshech Chochmah and stood before the tzibbur. The combination of genuine gaonus, mastery of the material, and unusual koach hadibbur left the entire audience spellbound. There are shiurim one enjoys, shiurim one remembers, and then there are those rare moments of Torah that one knows, even while hearing them, may come only once in a lifetime. This was such a moment.
Ashrei Rav Meir Simcha, that a full century after his petirah his Torah remains so alive, so penetrating, and so capable of setting a beis medrash aflame. And fortunate indeed is Ir HaTorah that it knew to accord him, on this milestone yahrtzeit, the kavod hara’ui to one of the greatest me’orei haTorah of the generations.
