- Agudah announced they pulled a provision from the Toeava bill scheduled for vote in NJ assembly A2218/S2260.
Agudahg statement: Baruch Hashem, we are pleased to report that, following significant outreach and discussions with legislative leaders, as well as your efforts, the provision that would have allowed lawsuits against individuals accused of "interfering" with a person's decision to obtain gender-related healthcare services has been removed from the bill and was pulled from today’s voting session.

This was reported earlier today in the media. Opponents of New Jersey's reproductive and transgender health care protection bill say they are not objecting to the provisions that increase penalties for assault, threats, intimidation, obstruction, or property damage.
Instead, critics, including the New Jersey Press Association, are challenging a section that would allow lawsuits against those who cause reputational, financial, or emotional harm to individuals or organizations involved in providing or receiving reproductive health care. They argue the language could infringe on free speech and potentially punish truthful reporting and protected opinions. As a result, lawmakers plan to amend the bill before bringing it back for a vote.

  2. If they chose not to pass the more virulent variant of A2218, and are aiming to get support for a version that will be able to pass their Amendments seeking to render it passable should be encapsulated:

  6. We are told that there are 80 hesder yeshivos. Now that 25 yeshivos are not sending their students to the armored forces, are the other 55 yeshivos ok with their students sitting with women in the close confines of a tank? Are they just slow to join the bandwagon? Or are they against this but are afraid to ח"ו criticize the holy medinas Yisrael?

    1. More importantly, do the people behind this invest even more into 'the vaad shalom beis d'monsey'?

The answer says whether they value bringing shalom bein ish l'ishto or enabling pirud.

  12. Rabbis Ausband and Schreiber -- so how many Abbaye veRavva?

Pentagon is false alarm. At least according to radio reports.

Where's our neturei-kartanik? Why is Agudah supporting a Tziyoni fruit -- hazelnut?

Like the litvish yeshivot, most hesder are small yeshivot, don't really count. Just like most litvish yeshivot are small and don't count.

Will Mayor Mandami allow NYPD to arrest Palestinians waving Pali flag? A hate crime. (The Dolan family, owners of the Knicks and owners of the Garden, are Jewish. So it's a hate crime.)

There's no one there at Clifton and 9-10. So no one in danger of heat stroke. The rabbonim probably went to see the Blue Claws game. What do you think this is dragging elderly rabbonim to Brazil Chicago Lakewood Baltimore Brooklyn Five Towns, all within a few days? Let them rest, let them visit family in the states.

The idea that they should rest is abhorrent and ageist. They have an opportunity to use their energy for something positive. אשרי חלקם that they aren't sitting on a beach somewhere and relaxing, visiting family, or enjoying their golden years.
