The vehicle to declare our raison d'etre is the annual Adirei Event
The true vehicle to declare our raison d'etre is every day during Birkas Hatorah. Say it slowly and clearly, and you have declared what you are all about. Sadly, we stopped relying on the Torah to take care of our Yiddishkeit and are searching for alternatives. They look harmless, but serve as replacements for the true regesh of Yiddishkeit that only comes from mitzvos. When they removed the חשיבות from being a לומד תורה, they replaced it with an ersatz אש משל הדיוט.

Like every baal teshuvah gave up an Olympic career, you can believe whatever makes you feel better. Turns out the tomchim are the losers that couldn't resist the yetser harah of entrepreneurship
