Lkwd News Briefs 2/26/20

- Lidl a discount Grocery chain store is holding its grand opening of the store on Route 9 in Howell today. The store is located in the former Best Buy location  4250 Route 9.

-Toll hikes possible to come to NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway NJ.com reports, The last-minute addition to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s board of commissioner’s agenda calls for a "proposed capital program and supporting revenue enhancement." scheduled for March 18 and 19. Revennue enhancement is a code word for toll increase.

-Coronavirus: school officials in Lakewood are already drawing up plans to provide instruction if schools are closed or some students stay home if they're diagnosed with the disease.
 The district expects to begin training teachers to lecture students via webcast in the event a student is confined at home or a school is closed (APP)

-A handful of yeshivas signed up for the new grant program having STEM certified public school teachers. At a meeting  there were public school teachers who availed for the program but many were from pre school and the program is only for grades 5- 12.
