Message from the LSTA.
Jay's Bus Service and Presidential Transportation are pleased to announce that they are now offering bus tracking on the LSTA routes they service as part of a pilot program.
The phone number we currently have on file for your child identifies your child's bus route.
This number can be found on your B6T form, available on the LSTA portal (www.lakewoodsta.org)
Families can track buses two ways:
By phone: Call 732-276-1176 from your registered number
Online: Visit parent.geotrackny.com
Please note: You may add up to two additional numbers online. (Total 3 numbers)
As this is a pilot program, tracking will be focused on morning routes for now, and some routes may not track properly at all times.
We kindly ask that you do not call the bus company with tracking concerns. The companies are aware of potential issues and will continue working to resolve them.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to improve this service.

- Another Day, Another Clickbait Letter…
Once again, the frum news websites are filled with sensationalist "open letters" this time, taking aim at the Lakewood community for things that have little or nothing to do with them. One letter attacks Lakewood over a parricular shul dress code policy
Another paints the entire Lakewood workforce with a broad brush over supposed tznius laxity.

  1. Kannoim are good, except when they write letters to platforms we don't like. Then its "attacking Lakewood" for supposedly non-existent tznius issues.

    1. When do people ever like Kannoim unless they share their views and beliefs? And even then saying someone is a kanoi is almost never meant as a compliment

    2. Kannoim might be a bit wild in their methods but generally are serve a useful puropse
To paraphrase John Maynard Keynes : kannoim ought to be a little wild, for they are the assaults of thoughts on the unthinking.

    3. Kanoim accomplish what others don’t and wouldn’t when they are truly acting L’Shem Shamoyim. The problem is that usually they aren’t.

    4. can you please quote me some תורה source (something which would be acceptable for being קובע הלכתא, not some story, however reliable it may be in your eyes) that one may not, or should not, be מקיים the Mitzvoh of Tochacha, or the Mitzvoh of being מקנה לשם שמים unless he means it only לשם שמים?

until than i will rightfully maintain that לשמה is not לעיכובא in this מצוה too, nor will lack thereof be a פטור for you

    5. When someone is not מקנה לשם שמים they are just a thug who had the good fortune of being born on the right side. But they are still just a thug. They would be B'Geder of what Chazal say about Tzadik Rodef Rosha other than the fact that they aren't Tzadikim...But anyway if you want a mekor out of the many see אגרות משה אהע"ז סי' לח

    6. If it doesn't work and has no chance of working, it's not תוכחה.
If תוכחה שלא לשם שמים has no chance of working, as we see the whole time, it is not a mitzvah.
Kanna'us is certainly that way, when it is not a mitzvah in the Torah at all.

    7. Even when תוכחה has no chance of working, we are still obligated for a macha'ah
& per R Moshe Schneider it weakens the dangerous kitrug against all of us

  2. Shmutz sells as the saying goes in the goyish marketing world
discussing znus in a kosher way and talking about it is very tziusdig,i
t's usually those who scream about it are projecting their perverted views

  3. I can’t stand these letters. You’re upset that klausenberg wants hats and jackets? Or that women are dressing too nice?

Calm down plz. Let’s focus on ourselves.

    1. They are usually fake and written by paid employees

    2. These topics were traditionally discussed only in private settings and with great sensitivity, and tzniusdig often behind closed doors. That long-standing approach shifted when the Agudah took the unprecedented step of addressing the issue of pornography publicly during the “Asking for a Friend” segment at their convention. By bringing the conversation into public and open forum, they signaled a new willingness to confront difficult but pressing issues head-on, reflecting both the urgency of the problem and the need for broader awareness of the nisayon

    3. The biggest issue with the article is the the mention of Lakewood - The shul and people have nothing to do with BMG. what were they insinuating with LAKEWOOD Ihr hatorah - utter garbage!

    4. YWN is filth and trash
No respectable yid looks at it
It's like reading the tabloids at the checkout counter at your local supermarket

  4. Saying that 29% vs 24% math scores is a success, is ridiculous. Why are we wasting money on this school?

  5. According to all poskim, if they found a linen thread in one suit it doesn’t become a miut hamatzui. I would like to see the Vaad disclose how many Tiglio suits were checked and how many had Shatnez. That would give a Poseik enough information to form a psak.

  13. If I may disagree - Why does a choson need to feel like a king? You are getting married time to get a reality check in life! Why do we need to pamper a choson. Chasanim should know and act responsible - There's nothing wrong with a 150.00 suit that probably won't fit you in a month you don't need to throw out all your clothing and get a new wardrobe and stock up for the next 5 years! Basics I'm fine with but the "King" sounds a bit too far something that always bothered me - watching kids clean out their parents...
And then you wonder why the new schron halls have people going berserk - they've been pampered like "Kings" up until that point not feeling chvs poor at all - and then the wedding is um a bit toned down... oiy!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The reason they're saying the the chossen should feel like a king is because of the posuk (?) "Chosson domeh lamelech."

      Delete
    2. not a posuk, a statement in pirkei d'rebbe eliezer.

      Delete
    3. If you want to get techinical - "Chosson domeh lamelech." applies only after they get married not the lead up..

    5. One Rav (not in Lakewood) holds like you not to stand for chattan or Kallah till after the chuppah. Or not to skip tachanun in morning of chuppah.
In practice, no one listens to him on this, except for his chassidim

      Delete
  14. The best part of all of this is that if you want to bash Lakewood the gashmiyus capital of the world, go ahead. Don't pick on some silly shul policy (which BTW can do whatever they like).

  17. Which school in Monsey isn't admitting children unless the tuition is paid up?
That is not true at all. Any kid in Monsey who wants to be in school is able to.

    1. False. There are over twenty girls in Monsey who are not in school because the schools don't like their parents. Why should the children suffer?
