The food should be chewed well before swallowing in order for the body to digest it and not have it sit in the stomach. -At the  zoning board meeting last night, the issue of proper noticing was highlighted again. It seems to be a recurring problem that neighbors of applicants are not receiving their notices in time. In some cases, attorneys use third-party services to deliver the notices, and they are considered “delivered” once they reach the post office  even though they have not yet been delivered to the intended homes.

- A contentious application was heard last night regarding approval for the Alexander Shul. Neighbors opposed what they described as a “monstrosity” and requested that the board postpone the hearing to allow them time to obtain legal representation a common courtesy that is usually granted. However, the board proceeded with the application.
One neighbor noted that none of the mispalelim actually live on the block. Concerns about modesty were also raised, as the plans include a men’s mikvah. The zoning board chairman appeared to speak in support of the shul. In the end, the board approved the application.

- In another application, for a daycare center adjacent to Bais Reuvein Kamenitz, the opposing attorney clashed with the board attorney and officials, and the exchange quickly turned into a circus. Ultimately, the applicant was instructed to re-notice, after the board chairman stated that there was no feasible way to have shared parking between the school and the daycare.

Leisure Village residents appeared to oppose an application for 28 lots adjacent to their development, raising concerns about wetlands and DEP oversight. Despite the objections, the board approved the project as a conforming application.

Major Shatnez Scandal In Eretz Yisroel! Thousands of suits are affected
Dear Concerned Yidden, We wish to update you on an urgent issue impacting the Jewish community in Eretz Yisroel. An Arab producer of men's wool suits in Turkey has been distributing many suits via Israeli suppliers for many years. He was aware that linen tapes cannot be used in wool suits; they have to be synthetic. However, his latest order for synthetic tape was mistakenly filled with thousands of linen tapes, which are now in suits in Eretz Yisroel. Vaad L'Mishmeres Shatnez verified that many suits had the linen tapes taken out by various individuals, including Albanian women sent by the Turkish Arab manufacturer. Unfortunately, this doesn' Unfortunately, this doesn't make the suits shatnez-free, as linen threads typically remain present.
Many suppliers are hiding this issue and the brand names under which these suits are marketed. Currently, it is believed that these Turkish suits are sold without removing the remaining threads. This alarming activity further renders standard shatnez testing ineffective, as it fails to detect the threads that remain after the linen tapes are removed. Vaad L'Mishmeres Shatnez recommends that all יראי שמים not wear any suit produced by this Turkish manufacturer, even those that allegedly have had their shatnez removed. One should also be cautious, as they may remove the Turkish label and market the suit as having been produced elsewhere.

  1. Are Onshim about getting us back into shape spiritually or are they about what's coming to us (or perhaps both)? And respectively, how does Teshuvah help avoid them? See https://musingsonthetorah.blogspot.com/2024/10/how-does-teshuvah-work.html for a short analysis of this issue. GCT

  2. Why does the planning board attorney act so biased and interogates the people who are objectors?? Shouldn't the attorney sit and be neutral until he is asked for his opinion by the board? Does he get paid by applicants or taxpayers? Seems like the applicants are paying his fee. PATHETIC.

  3. The corruption was on full display last night. It’s all about who you are and how well connected you are.
The board and township professionals showed complete disdain for the neighbors residents who simply want a decent quality of life. Instead, they bulldozed the application through without hesitation.

Meanwhile, less fortunate kehillos Sefardim, Ltvish, and others face constant hurdles just to get basic approvals for their shuls.

Fom their behavior it appeared that they’re all in cahoots. And let’s be honest: the township committee is just as responsible. They appoint these boards and allow this blatant favoritism and abuse of power to continue unchecked.

    1. Chairman Neiman was behaving like a drunk sailor in the manner that he was attacking citizens who expressed their objection to an application. He was even quite rude to an objectors’ attorney and regular members of the audience.

I hope someone took his car keys away after the meeting, so he could be driven home instead of operating his vehicle under the influence.

  10. 20000 is an impossible number. An area the size of a block fits approximately 10,000 people if fully covered shoulder to shoulder. That is not how it was...

There was not more than 2000 people at this event look at the pictures, and it was probably mostly mesivta bochurim
Also vast majority of the bochurim arrested was at the airport where they knew they were going to arrested

    3. Sheker

      There was about 20,000 minimum.

Most bochurim were arrested at their homes. Regardless, they should not be arrested at all, period. And certainly not in the "Jewish" state.

    4. Falsehood-I was there and there were several hundred crowded around the front and the rest spread out with plenty of open area between people. I'd be surprised if there even five thousand people there over the course of the entire event.
Most bachurim currently in jail were arrested at the airport (verified through multiple sources) after traveling to uman against the advice of their own rabbanim.

    5. Truth

An anonymous person who justifies the arrest of yeshiva students for the 'crime' of not joining the army, is untrustworthy. Particularly when he is accusing others of lying. Particularly when these others are not anonymous and have a reputation of honesty.

Oh, and the army which he justifies being forced to join, is the only army in the world - other than North Korea - who drafts females. And just like the former USSR, they don't allow you to leave.

Wow, beautiful words articulated in the spirit of Daas Torah
Except that no one justified their arrest, rather that people who knowingly put themselves in a matzav of sakana aren't worthy of our sympathy
