- Jack Ciattarelli posts yesterday on his visit to Lakewood says Mikie Sherill will not opt in to tuition relief bill for New Jersey parents
"Great to be at Yeshiva Tiferes Torah in Lakewood today, where 500+ students are thriving in a strong learning environment. With so many New Jersey families choosing private schools, I’ve long supported a voucher program to give parents real choice. Thanks to the recent federal budget bill, a first-ever national voucher program will take effect in 2027—if states opt in. As Governor, I’ll make sure New Jersey does.If Mikie Sherrill is Governor, she won’t—she voted NO, and just like Phil Murphy, she’s controlled by union bosses who oppose it. New Jersey families deserve better. It’s time for change."

- Trump post about Mamdani: "Self proclaimed New York City Communist, Zohran Mamdani, who is running for Mayor, will prove to be one of the best things to ever happen to our great Republican Party. He is going to have problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City. Remember, he needs the money from me, as President, in order to fulfill all of his FAKE Communist promises. He won't be getting any of it, so what's the point of voting for him? This ideology has failed, always, for thousands of years. It will fail again, and that's guaranteed! President DJT"
- Update from R' Aaron Lang on Funding lawsuit:
Prof. T. and I just petitioned the NJ Supreme Court to hear the Lakewood school case. Brief is due October 8. We are optimistic.
Once we win, the exact remedy will be up to legislators. We need the debt forgiven and new categorical aid. This is very important because if only the Adequacy Budget is increased by, say, $100M, the litigation will have been futile since we still would not receive equalization given that the Township's wealth has shot up over the last two years.
I have made the case for over a decade that Lakewood has among the lowest per capita income in NJ. The poverty rate and household income is way below the state average. Moreover, when the wealth is divided by the total amount of K-12, the town is low income (but the state no longer uses that metric).
I have been asking for the oilam to elect a friendly BOE. The leadership of this town and our legislative delegation will have to stop backslapping and begin some serious work or else all the litigation will have been for naught and we will continue to borrow. AL

- NJ Republican Congressmen Chris Smith and Tom Kean this morning released a joint statement demanding that U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill do a full-on data dump.
"The only way that level of transparency can be achieved is for all of Representative Sherrill’s academic, disciplinary, and investigatory records to be made public – something only Representative Sherrill can authorize," said the Republican representatives in a statement. "We call on her to do so immediately and without qualification. "If those sealed disciplinary records match Representative Sherrill’s current explanation, we are unsure why she would refuse to release the records and put this matter to rest." (Insidernj)
- Tips on how to prepare for the fast of Tisha B'Av according to Rabbi Yechezkel Aschayek author of the sefer חיים בריאים כהלכה One should start preparation from the morning 2 days before by drinking 50 % more water of your daily intake. Drink 20 minutes before eating and after meals, don't drink until the food is digested in order not to dilute the acids that digest the food. The food should be chewed well before swallowing in order for the body to digest it and not have it sit in the stomach. One should increase protein starting 2 days before, such as eggs fish etc. By the seudas Hamafsekes one should drink 20 minutes before and no need to drink afterwards

The police giving tickets for not being between the lines is testament to our close relationship with them. Time to fire the leadership and start over. The disrespect.
ReplyDeleteWhat a Chutzpa!
DeleteThere was no where else to park because they had tents in the yeshiva parking lots and on Rosh Hashana when no one can move the cars and no one else is parking the LPD gives out worthless tickets for cars that are not exactly on the white lines
There should be outrage against this abuse of the public
Where's Menasha Miller
Meir Lichtenstein
Isaac Akerman
where the Mayor ??
This is disgusting
This should be brought to the attention of Assemblyman Avi Schnall as the community was targeted while they prayed in Synagogue on the holiest days of the year
Has LPD become like Jackson PD??
How about park in the lines.
DeleteNot too hard…
It's disrespectful to park lazily and waste others' time and ability to park themselves.
DeleteOne trick pony. Don't people tire of this at some point?
ReplyDeletePeople Park all over the lot leaving no room to get out they should be getting tickets
ReplyDeletePeople should daven locally with their kids instead of leaving them for everyone else to do their jobs
DeleteIs this new Street a dead end?
ReplyDeleteWhy does the planning board attorney act so biased and interogates the people who are objectors?? Shouldn't the attorney sit and be neutral until he is asked for his opinion by the board? Does he get paid by applicants or taxpayers? Seems like the applicants are paying his fee. PATHETIC.
ReplyDeleteNow that all of our streets were torn up in preparation for this new disaster. The Eagle Ridge Development is ready to start wreaking real havoc on all of us.
