This week when the Moilad is announced, the gabbai should say: דער מולד איז געווען. This is because 8:46.9 AM refers to the time in Yerushalayim. But by the time we bentch the choidesh here, it will be many hours after 8:46 over there. (The Moilad in the US East Coast is actually 1:46 AM)
However, at the vasikin/ neitz minyanim one should announce the moles as usual - unless you announce actual current moles time.
ReplyDeleteEven at vasikin it's still after the molad in yerushalayim
DeleteThe Zechariah quote has Shvat at etnachta. Doesn't mean Shvat is komatz.
ReplyDelete100%. Who says that's it נכון. Source?
DeleteNo, it's a Zakeif Katan.
DeleteWhat's the significance of shevat being the only month mentioned in tanach?
ReplyDeleteAdar and Nissan
ReplyDeleteAdar and Sivan are mentioned in the Megillas Esther
Adar and Sivan
ReplyDeleteאדר
ReplyDeleteadar sivan teves shvat and there are 2 more forgot wich ones there are 4 in ester and two in zecharia
ReplyDeleteThe names of the months were named by chazal in Bavel shevat is the only one mentioned in the Navie. The ones I'm Megilas Ester are after they were already named in Babylonia.
ReplyDeleteSee Raban - Shemos 12/2 - this week’s parsha - Bo - where the Ramban says the names of the chadoshim - Nissan, Iyar etc. are “Parsi” names of the months adopted by the Chachomin in order to prioritize the Geulah of
DeleteBabel over the Geulah of Mitzrayim. See this Ramban and it will open your eyes as to remembering (Galus and) Geulah.
In any event the names of the months are “Parsi”.
This may answer why we say “mi sheh’asah nissim VE’GAH’AL ...” at all Mevorchum hachodesh and immediately utter those very “Parsi” names for the month to come. It is a built in ZECHIRAH of our (Galus and) Geulah.
May it be very speedy.
