A Release published in support of cards designed to subvert children against their parents was greatly misleading The Voice Of Lakewood magazine, claims.
Shomrim cards features grotesque caricatures of frum adults using smartphones, and of children complaining of the negative influence their parents have on them. The cards are aimed at convincing children to demand that their parents stop using smartphones. A Advertisement published in a Lakewood publication a few weeks ago expressed support for the cards and encouraged people to donate. It included a letter signed by the roshei yeshiva. TVOL has learned that the rabbonim were never shown the cards and the letter was merely meant to support a project promoting awarness to the dangers of smartphone usage. When shown the cards, the Rabbonim strongly disapproved of their content and message.

I saw these months ago and got sickened. The publishers of all papers in town including the voice have a responsibility as part of their job description especially in lakewood to verify things. If got a signed letter and saw those cards the first would have done was pick up the phone . In this case especially , it made zero sense that the rabbanim approved it . Guys , who distribute magazines and papers to almost every home in lakewood where literally tens of thousands of kids look at your publications. Time to take the reins .

ReplyDeleteAny child who approaches a adult and gives them a card will be scarred for life. Parents beware keep these cards away from your children.
