In a list of the 10 Youngest towns in NJ, Lakewood tops the list with a average median age of 21. According to a report in NJ.com
The youngest town in New Jersey is a bit of an anomaly. Surrounded almost entirely by towns where residents are 20 years older, Lakewood in Ocean County has a median age of about 21.
On the other hand the town of Cape May Point, tops the list of the oldest town in NJ where the median age is about 73 years old.
The Report explains Lakewood's number is "almost exclusively due to the fact that it houses one of the largest yeshivas in the world, drawing young members of the Jewish Orthodox community from around the globe."
Lakewood is followed by the one of the state's biggest college towns, New Brunswick. Except for Chesterfield in Burlington County and Prospect Park in Passaic County, all the 10 youngest towns have median ages well under 30. red more at NJ.com
