Chanuka: Grand Latke Cook Off in Lakewood
Watch it live from the comfort of your home Thursday night the 3rd night of Chanukah
This is a town of Torah, we are zoiche to host the largest (by lbs of human flesh) yeshiva in the world, Reb Aaron wanted this, everyone is connected to the Torah of the Yeshiva.
I thought a general slogan repetition is appropriate now.
Just to clarify, I don't think this is absolutely wrong. But the slogans are lies and should be given up. We are a town like all towns, with yeshiva leit, chassidim, baalebattim and all other sorts. Some more megusham and some less. Some more connected to ruchniyus and some less.
That is exactly what is so painful- Lakewood has become a town like all other towns, instead of the special and unique place it was when I moved here over 40 years ago.

That was never sustainable. A society needs a mix of people. Monochromatic towns end up with severe machlokes. Exhibit A, Kiryas Joel. Exhibit B, Skver, where a person was severely burnt because the leaders didn't like his attitude.

ReplyDeleteWhy is this allowed its not beffiting for Lakewood
ReplyDeletewhy did they ban the Kumzitz event at Gourmet Glatt but this is allowed?
