It is illegal and dangerous to pick up hitchers. A better suggestion would be ‘parents, please make sure your children have transportation arrangement so that they don’t have to walk in this weather’.
ReplyDeleteIn general, there is NO excuse for hitching (especially the elementary school and mesivta boys). Part of being responsible (for yourself or your children) is making sure you have a safe way to get where you NEED to go and only going places you WANT to go if you have a safe way to get there and back!

It is a Chesed not to pick up hitchhikers. By picking them up they continue to hitchhike which is dangerous.
