    1. What a sick disgusting headline from YWN modox blog in a sad attempt to bashmutz lakewood yeshiva and gedolim as having taken money from conservative movement
Amotheer Fake shocking headline from a has been site that looks to rabble rouse
      despicable

    2. How about Kikar Shabbat investigate if YWN owns VIN website where all lakewood and charedi bashing gets posted as the shabbos goy site

    3. Whats fake about the YWN article? And whats wrong with pointing out that the frum community in the US was duped into working together with Conservative movement, which is arguably worse than working with the Zionist movement.

    4. Particularly since it's a paid advertisement, put up on many sites. Some acknowledge that it's a paid advertisement.

    5. The inflammatory headline not withstanding, what about this YWN story changes anything? The story does not allege that anyone from the anti EH camp in anyway coordinated or had any knowledge of the reform slate involvement. Just that the reform movement tried to exploit the anti EH feelings for their own agenda and got caught. This is great news for both the anti EH and pro EH factions as we all want to see the reform LGBQMS-16 voices busted.

Besides, nobody should be getting their hashkofos from adds in magazines. Pick up a phone and discuss with your rov, rosh yeshiva, rebbe etc.

Also, has anyone seen any of these reform sponsored adds in the USA? I don'r recall seeing a single anti EH add.

    8. When the conservtive movement believes that your haskafa and behavior strengthens and enables them it is time to take a step back and reconsider what you are doing. Can anyone imagine the conservtive movement in the 1970s looking to get the members of the Moetzes either in the US or Israel to do something that benefits and strengthens their cause? Can anyone name a single other time in the past 150 years that anti-frum groups tried to harness the power of Daas Torah for their benefit?

    9. What a silly argument.
If the gedolim say its assur to eat chazer and eretz hakodesh says its mutter to eat chazer but only with our hechsher not the conservative hechsher it's pashut that the conservatives will use the gedolims issur on chazer to fight eretz hakodesh

      Delete
    10. What a silly argument. Eretz Hakodesh doesn't say its mutter to eat Chazar. If a group would say it is mutter to eat chazer only with their hechsher, the conservtive movement would not put a dime into getting gedolim to say that all chazar is treif. How would that benefit their cause? This however clearly does

    11. Even if none of the anti EHK paskevelin were written by the conservtive movement , end of the day, an unsigned letter should be considered so worthless to a Ben Torah that it should make little difference. Daas Torah certainly can't be found on unsigned paskevelin Not even if someone paid a newspaper to print it

  3. Yeah, but they have a valid point there.
Lakewood Yeshiva, as in the yungeleit and bochurim of the Yeshiva, did nothing wrong here. They learned Torah and were shlepped to mid-seder hafganos by forces outside of their control.

  4. Key Vesheim Kodshoi Votochnu

    "Schlissel Challah".

This Chasidic Minhag. (אוהב ישראל- Apter Rav zt"l) has recently been adopted by all women regardless of family background.

The Minhag of חלת עני is at least 500 years older than Schlissel Challah. It goes back to the times
of the ראשונים (רא"ש), yet very few have ever heard of it.

The Minhag of the four-cornered Challah also
goes back to the times of the ראשונים (כל בו).
Most women (& men) don't know when to bake it.

  6. There's a bigger issue that this ywn article exposes, the ads placed by agencies. The conservatives wanted ads to be placed by an Israeli agency hiding the true source. But we had this exact deception here where Kaufman agency - consult write - placed ads all over charedi media both online and in print and blocked any opposition.

Exactly what they claimed the conservatives are doing with misleading ads through intermediaries, is being done by eretz hakokosh on a much grander scale.

Open your eyes to the manipulation.

  9. The power brokers are thrilled the olam is distracted by WZO and EH while the real issues go unchecked.

In Lakewood, it’s the same routine. A pothole gets filled, a sidewalk paved, and suddenly there’s a photo op like the town was saved.

Meanwhile, we waste hours every day stuck in traffic from unannounced road closures with shady or hidden purposes. We’re kept in the dark and it seems intentional.

Major projects no one asked for get quietly approved while the people paying the price are ignored.

Who’s benefiting? Because it’s clearly not the average resident.

    1. 11:49 It is no doubt more complex than that. Continued low(er than NY)-cost housing has boom-marketed Lakewood and created an economy that benefits the average resident in terms of availability of goods and services, higher wages and local jobs. There may be a more transparent way of doing it, and it could be that there are a lot of special interest involved, but ultimately if all you are seeing is the annoyances in front of your face and you are just full of bitterness, it is no wonder that you consider traffic a bigger issue than fundamental Yahadus problems in EY. Whichever side you are on - WZO is a fight for much more important things than whether or not you are being informed of road closures on Central Avenue.

Yes, yes I'll head off your response - "so krum, you are exactly the problem and why the tzibbur is fed up with the politics of Lakewood" etc etc.

Hashem should help you find your happiness.

    2. The WZO fight is a distraction from everything important.

      Delete
    3. The WZO fight for both sides has so far been wonderful. We need more like it!
It has elevated the oilam from naarish local issues & minimal horizons that was the absolute limit of they & their families existence

      Delete
    4. the "boom market" did not benefit any lakewooders. whatever "higher wages" you imagine exist, they don't come close to offsetting the tripling of rent and housing costs or the tripling of tuition (all of which are a direct result of your boom market). secondly, it brought the overall ruchnius in town way, way down.
of course, for us traffic is a bigger issue than WZO, which is only about money on one side and projecting fake frumkeit on the other.

      Delete
    5. 5:55 Wrong on almost all points except for the ruchniyus level - more of a yeridas hadoros than a direct result of the boom, although the point is taken. Higher wages come with business influx. Rent increases with the housing market, which is a national issue based on interest rates and inflation. Tuition - also inflation, as with all other goods and services. Bottom line, far fewer people need to travel to NY for a decent parnassa (talk about traffic!) or to purchase things that would not be available in a tiny out of town community.

As for "Lakewooders" and "Us", time to recognize that "you" have no exclusive rights to living in a specific area, and are not entitled to privileges. If you are looking for "Old Lakewood", either find a time machine or go create a new community modeled on it. Stop complaining about traffic and shopping centers and do what you can to cope with the reality.

      Delete
    6. But all the issues had been predicted a generation in advance.
There were many could have benefited enormously taking advantage of the (d)evolution but chose not to gain through the suffering of their neighbors. Others refused care to & gained enormously because of it.

Just desserts should be meted out.
