- New Jersey's Commissioner of Environmental Protection, says a" major disaster was averted" last night, as the Jones Road wildfire came "perilously close" to hundreds of homes in Lacey and Barnegat Townships.

With New Jersey Gov Murphy in Poland for the International March of the Living, Lt. Governor Tahesha Way has declared a State of Emergency in Ocean County due to the Jones Road Wildfire
She added At this time, we have no loss of life and no homes have been harmed.

-Garden State Parkway, Route 9 back open as massive N.J. wildfire continues to burn
Firefighters have made enough progress on a massive wildfire burning in Ocean County for officials to fully reopen both the Garden State Parkway and Route 9 on Wednesday morning.

- All evacuation orders in Lacey have been lifted and residents are allowed to return home.

 -About 25,000 homes and businesses remain without power early Wednesday, Jersey Central Power & Light said.

-CBS news reported earlier that there were mandatory evacuations for Lakewood,NJ yet no such order has been given. The report read: "A fast-spreading wildfire broke out Tuesday in Ocean County, New Jersey, prompting mandatory evacuation orders for residents in Ocean Township, Lakewood and Lacey Township"

- The  wildfire has surged to 8,500 acres in Ocean County as of Tuesday night and forced the evacuation of 3,000 residents along with multiple closures of major roads.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service said the “Jones Road Forest Fire” is 10% contained as 10:46 p.m. and a total of 1,320 structures were being threatened by the flames.

- Lacey Mayor Peter Curatola said three structures in the township’s industrial park caught on fire, and one of the buildings was lost.

Ocean County officials as well as leaders in Lakewood and Berkeley were among the many people throughout the area who offered their ambulances, fire trucks and emergency generators, APP reports.
