Lkwd news Briefs 3/6/20

-Remember this Motzei shabbos  spring ahead to Daylight Savings time

-First time home buyers and homeowners are taking advantage of low interest rates being offered by several banks to refinance. Santander bank and others are offering very low rates

-At the township meeting the mayor was asked how Lakewood is preparing for it  the Coronavirus. The mayor said that the state and county are taking a lead on it but  people should not panic they shouold pay attention and use common sense measures hold off from shaking hands

-A Lakewood  publication has called on the community to isolate a individual who it claims
his actions are a massive chilul hashem. The publisher wrote "This article has been reviewed by Rabbanim" but no Rav signed their name.  It brought up a serious charge but worded  only as an allegation  "Allegations have been swirling that .... and his cohorts were the source of the Rise Up Ocean County attempt to close down playgroups in Lakewood" but provides zero proof on him or the cohorts whomever that is. The writer than calls on everyone to ignore and not talk to that individual  "The only way to defend ourselves from this harassment is if every single one of us makes it very clear to him that as long as he continues his malign activities he is not welcome among us. If you see him, do not touch him, but please ignore him. He will get the message loud and clear".

Others have pointed out that  for journalistic integrity it should have  noted  the family  relationship between the publisher and a relative of his who is currently in a lawsuit with the individual they are trying to so call ostracize and shun.

  4. Aha. So, suddenly Berkowitz is backtracking on his latest threats and call to action against the askan Klein? Has he finally woken up to the reality of how his print and online media scheming can come back to bite him?

Why does Berkowitz deliberately not disclose to everyone the rest of the story?? And that is; Berkowitz is known to have a personal vendetta against Klein because he's suspected to be involved in exposing his brother-in-law schwab’s corrupt land-swapping activities against the taxpayers of Lakewood, about which they’re currently in midst of heated litigation in State Court.

This also explains why Berkowitz paraphrases, cherry-picks, omits, and twists portions of Klein's unorthodox speech, where his attention was turned against unorthodox DEVELOPERS which have already infamously ruined our own beautiful town. In fact, Klein explained further that this is the reason why there are Jewish families that choose to move to Jackson and away from that which our elected committeemen allow local developers to shove down the throats of the Lakewood residents.

Just be honest and transparent, Mr. Berkowitz (aka IronRock Security, LLC). The public should know the true background behind your not-so-innocent leave from your “comfort zone”.

  5. Are these "Rabbanim" the same people that signed the Seruvim against Berkowitz's brother in law for refusing to go to Beis Din?

I'm also a Rav, and I do not approve of the misrepresentations in this article. Nor do I approve of this author's failure to divulge his specific interest with Rabbi Klein. There's more than meets the eye here..

  7. Can you be more specific what the relationship is between the publisher and the person involved in the lawsuit? Is this the suit that also involves two other individuals?

  9. Safety is paramount in my business. Nobody should ever threaten another member of the community, or even use language that can insinuate the use of violence against another.

I’m glad Mr. Berkowitz is finally retracting his previous “publisher” statement, which can easily be perceived as a veiled call to injure his nemesis, by an unhinged member of the community.

Words can have dangerous consequences. He should know better.

  10. And to furyher reduce the integrity of said publication.....the publisher also owns Iron Rock Security which depends on the mosdos to give it business. So he will tow the establishment line and do whatever the powers that be ask of him.

  11. The messira was done on camera. I don’t think shunning will work, but it is impossible to defend this guy. Idk what will work, what kinds of demons this guy is fighting that he would resort to such behavior, on most occasions when it totally does not concern him. Perhaps he needs our compassion, he knows that nobody will masser on his activities, but the situation is truly sad
